Fales is a player who has a very similar arm to Murray's.  However, I like Fales a lot more because he actually has good size, slightly better accuracy in the intermediate routes, and most importantly he doesn't choke in big games.

 

Fales looks tiny out there (despite him listed at 6'3") and his arm looks weaker than Murray's. 

 

I guess some people simply hate Murray based on some stupid college team allegience crap.

Yeah, Fales is just under 6'2".  Not good size, but adequate size I suppose.

I don't think anyone hates Murray. We just see undersized, with a whole bunch of average traits otherwise, and he is quite old already. If you're drafting him knowing he'll be a good backup/short term starter then that's great. However, if you are drafting him as a dev QB that you think is gonna magically find some next gear that include franchise QB traits it's just not there.

Murray actually broke out of the choking in big games last year, he then got hurt later on.  I think the choking in big games the 1st 3 yrs. of his career actually helped him.  He knows how it feels now, been there done that and I think he is over it as his played showed his senior year with mostly 2nd and 3rd stringers on offense.

 

Murray was 2-4 against ranked teams this year.  If that's breaking out...

Georgia wasnt a good team last year they had mostly 2nd and 3rd stringers on offense.  I know at one point in the season against Tennessee and LSU he had 2 big come back wins high scoring games, back to back games

No, Weeden and Weinke were ancient. Murray is just old. If you look back at the guys who turned 24 during their rookie seasons, not much improvement with those guys historically. Once you are that old and have that much experience at the college level you basically are what you are.

Ok his arm strength is greater than (IMO) or at the very least equal to that of Bridgewater, he has similar size a build to Bridgewater, his accuracy is very good and he is one of the best in this class when it comes to placing the ball where he wants it (I think you are referring to completion percentage which is also good). And as far as record goes I am not going to judge a QB on a record. That's like when people say based on the Talent TBs team had and where they were ranked pre-season that Louisville should have gone undefeated.....

 

Also he probably has the fastest release of any QB in this draft. Now we get to pocket presence. He is not a good as Bridgewater when it goes to that at this point in their careers, but he is a solid decision maker and does know how to move in the pocket.

 

All I am saying, is if he has a "whole bunch of average traits", then Bridgewater has a whole bunch of average traits as well, and any other QB in this draft for that matter.

It's not bad, but it means that if you have a ton of it you probably aren't going to have as much growth potential. I'm trying to explain to TMD why Murray isn't a good developmental QB prospect.

Dude I've watched every one of those videos (most of them twice), as well as a whole lot of him live. He is what he is, which is a good backup/spot starter. If you think there is some hidden gear inside him somewhere that we haven't seen over 52 career starts then I don't know what to tell ya. Just wait and we'll see together.

In 3-5 years I wouldn't be surprised if Murray if the best QB from this draft class....even over your boy Bridgewater.

You are serious?  Posting a highlight video... and it doesn't even highlight arm strength?

 

He threw no opposite hash deep outs or any other relevant NFL throw.  It was all deep downfield.  And... Only 1 pass in that video traveled over 45-50 yards in the air.  

 

Supposedly Tim Tebow is the posterboy for weak arms, although I'd consider it average with poor accuracy.

This Murray lovefest is unbelievable. If anyone here actually watched college football you would know Murray is nothing special and folds under pressure. Even a Georgia fan would tell you this. When things dont go his way he literally looks like he is freaking out on the field. But yeah look at that highlight film!
