Blake Bortles could be the next Blaine Gabbert?
|
Count me as one of the Bortles doubters. Didn't like him thru mock draft season. Thought it was a terrible pick, draft day. Wanted Teddy. Took me a couple of weeks to accept it...
Now I'm flossing fried crow meat from my teeth. Can't wait to see him play again. I think he'll be a top 5 QB one day, but what do I know? Ignorant fanatic here. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

You can feel free to know that you are not alone in your being, as you said, an "Ignorant fanatic", but hey, isn't that what being a football fan is all about, esp being a fan of a team that really hasn't been very good for a little while now.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Quote:I said this exact thing when i checked the draft breakdowns when Bortles first started to rise up draft boards. He isnt scared like Gabbert but he does react to phantom pressure and his mechanics go from meh to "nope" quickly once he isnt able to hit his first read. We know this is wrong now, too. Not chipping at Ninja, but we've seen that he does multiple reads and makes good passes into tight spaces in a very brief moment to make the decision. To wit: this. Anyone see the interview with his dad during the Tampa game? Seems like a solid, no nonsense, blue collar guy. Blake comes with good pedigree for this game.
Whichever NFL QB coach compared Bortles to Gabbert probably won't have a job for much longer. Whoever said it was too chicken to put his name on it. Wonder if it was even a current NFL QB coach.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

To wit: this. I really liked his dad. He seems like a guy you'd like to have a few beers with. As for that throw, every time I see that I go DAAAYUM! He really seems to throw on the run exceptionally well. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
What's up Jags Fans? I wrote this post with the fear that there was an off chance that the Jaguars would actually draft Bortles. I've been happily eating crow the past couple of weeks. Ok, maybe months. It's been humbling to see how many of you felt the same, and admitted it. Relief has set in and the future looks bright.

I still like Bridgewater, but it's a very good thing I don't make the decisions. Bortles has so much higher ceiling IMO.

Quote:he has? where?twitter I think it's @jimwade noticed someone retweet him the other day, he's on the Bortles bandwagon We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! |
