Daniel Jerimiah "Bridgewater best fit for Jaguars"

#61

Quote:Henne barely played his final year in Miami. Matt Moore started most of the year and actually played okay. They let Henne walk as a FA and Moore was the starter. They draft Tannehill, who beat out Moore.

I don't recall saying thee prospects couldn't beat out Matt Moore.....

I said they wouldn't beat out Henne.....

Also like I said the Dolphins planned to have a new starter and they let they're seasoned vet walk in FA, if we really thought one of these QBs would win the starting job or wanted them to take over don't you think we would have kept Gabbert on the roster and let Henne walk?

Similar to what Miami did......

Quote:And it would be a big reach. Esp since the drop off in talent after the top 3 overall prospects is pretty big. Now if we trade down out of the top 5 it would be a better value because we would also accumulate more picks and probably an additional 2nd rounder this year and potentially picks for next year as well.

Assuming the trade down is not available, you'd rather not take the QB you view as a potential franchise guy? Interesting.

Yea. that had me confused too. I feel that you gotta get the franchise quy unless you are getting 3+ 1st rounders

Just because I feel he could have that potential doesn't mean he is ready to do it immediately. I would rather take the guy I feel will have the immediate impact at #3.

If the front office feel that one of these QBs is that, then as usual I will trust their judgement because they get paid to do it. I am just saying I don't see that immediate impact right now.

Who cares?  They get to learn from Chad Henne so whoever they take is guaranteed to morph into a super star.

I remember someone recycling the same old Jeremiah article over and over and over to prove why Bridgewater isn't a good fit for the Jaguars. Wonder what that person's gonna do now... :whistling:

John Middlekauf, a former NFL scout, told College Football 24/7 last week that he had yet to talk to a scout that believed Bridgewater was a top-five pick and went a step further, tweeting that he didn't think Bridgewater is worthy of a top-10 pick.

"The reason he decided to wait to throw in front of NFL evaluators until his pro day is because he'll be in a better controlled environment that should be set up for him to perform well"

If people think a better prospect is going to fall to us in the future they are stupid. Taking a QB out of the first round is a lottery and next year we wont be picking high enough to get a top 2 prospect. Teddy is better than any prospect we will be able to get for a long time. Waiting for a Luck type prospect is equally as stupid as thinking you should aim to find a guy outside the first round.

That last paragraph is true of pretty much any QB considered a top ten pick.

Jets should of took Geno in the 1st so it wouldnt of been a lottery.  If they took him in the first he would have a much better career! :teehee:
