Blackmon in car accident

Quote:I'm not that old, and its pretty frustrating that someone that can lose as much as him is still out at that time.... I will agree with this. I don't necessarily think it is a big deal for someone in his mid-20's to be out that late on a Friday night. But considering his circumstances, he probably shouldn't have been.

Because I sleep at 3:30 am.Would it change your mind if he were acting as a designated driver for a fellow player or a friend? I'm not saying he was, but if that were the case, wouldn't it stand to reason that he was in fact doing the right thing? Perhaps part of his recovery effort is to help ensure others don't have the same problems that he has had, ie: DUI issues and the like.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Quote:I'm not that old, and its pretty frustrating that someone that can lose as much as him is still out at that time.... Yep. It's pretty simple really. The young being - out - late - Is - cool crowd fail to realize that if Justin didn't have such a checkered past, nobody would care about this incident. BTW, I'm only a couple years older than Justin. My Social Security checks aren't exactly in the mail.
Quote:It's a pattern bro. I wasn't disagreeing with you that he probably shouldn't be on the team next year. All I was pointing out is that you can get a careless driving citation for a number of reasons. I think we should look to get what we can for him, and hopefully would be 4th - 5th round pick at minimum, which I think is reasonable considering his talent level and the way his contract offers a low risk for any team that trades for him. Situations seem to follow him down here, and I think its time for a change of scenery for him.

Non-story. I think the fact that he was not under the influence is a huge, huge indicator that he might finally have his stuff together considering this is a guy that has been under the influence every single time he's been pulled over so far.
Also, Blackmon is a grown man and can stay out as late as he wants unless he's on parole, regardless of his history.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. Quote:That would probably change my mind a bit, but at this point, considering his past, he's pretty much lost my benefit of the doubt. And that's the hardest thing to gain back after 3+ incidents.

I think its safe to say that Blackmon will be getting a "random drug test" from the NFL here shortly.

Quote:And that's the hardest thing to gain back after 3+ incidents. I wouldn't say that. If he is still on the team and able to start week one.....as soon as he starts catching TDs all will be forgiven. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:It's a pattern bro. Completely agree. There's nothing going on at 3:30 that he needs to be out for, unless he's having a baby.

Soo, he wasn't arrested, wasn't high or drunk. Basically didn't do anything wrong. But because he was out late and happened to get in an accident we should cut him. You guys have never been out at 3 am? Never been in any kind of accident?

A lot can happen at 3:30 AM.
Accidents can happen to anyone, seeing as there's no drugs or alcohol involved, I'm not worried in the slightest.
Quote:I don't think anyone said cut him... I did. I just pretty much see him as dead weight at this point. Nobody is going to trade for him considering his history and that should probably tell you something considering how talented he is.

You guys have never been out at 3 am? Never been in any kind of accident? How do people not get the fact that because of what has happened to him in the past, being out at 3:30 am is not a good thing? I've been out at three am and I've been involved in one accident. I've also never blown a .24 BAC. By the way, I never said cut him. I would wait for the NFL to ban him for life before cutting him.

Quote:I did. I just pretty much see him as dead weight at this point. I don't think teams would give a up a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him. But no way you are going to find a talented receiver like that in the 4th or 5th round.... It also helps that this "incident" was not drug or alcohol related. Like I said earlier I would phone the Pats, as they don't seem to mind waiting for guys on suspension, esp if those guys have talent. i.e. Talib and Browner
The fact he was not drunk or high speaks volumes to me. I'm 26, I'm out until that time regularly and not alcohol related. You hang at a friend's house watching movies, eating dinner, playing some xbox. Before you know it, it's 3am. Happens probably 1-2 times a week. Not that big a deal IMO.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
