Ryan Mallett

Quote:What has Ryan Mallett done to warrant a second/third round pick? He's tall. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Theres a Ryan Mallet in every draft. If you really want a pocket QB with a million dollar arm that makes questionable decisions when the pressures on draft him late. Just draft Mettenberger in the third. He's younger and you get him for four years. If you really want Mallett, wait a year for when he hits the open market. Quote:Just draft Mettenberger in the third. He's younger and you get him for four years. If you really want Mallett, wait a year for when he hits the open market.Exactly. Mettenberger would be a cheaper option of the same QB. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:And in the end, none of this matters. Schaub hardly did squat in Atlanta prior to being dealt to Houston.
Quote:What has Ryan Mallett done to warrant a second/third round pick? Be the best or one of the top 3 passers in college football when he was there?.... That count for anything? As a matter of fact the only reason that Mallett fell to the 3rd round is because of alleged off field crap. We show less advertisements to registered users. What's he done lately other than be outplayed by Tim Tebow? Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Schaub hardly did squat in Atlanta prior to being dealt to Houston. Rob Johnson hardly did anything before being dealt to Buffalo. But, he did enough. So did Schaub. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:That gives him trade value in the NFL years later? What's he done lately other than be outplayed by Tim Tebow? Hasn't been given an opportunity to yet. THat happens when Tom Brady is ahead of you on the depth chart. Quote:Be the best or one of the top 3 passers in college football when he was there?.... That was 4 years ago, at this point in time it counts for nothing. Quote:Hasn't been given an opportunity to yet. THat happens when Tom Brady is ahead of you on the depth chart. True, but they've also been trying to trade him since his 2nd year. Not exactly a vote of confidence in Mallet. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:lolwut??? How do you know an unproven quarterback would be a starter in the league? He has done nothing to make anyone think otherwise, but because TMD says so we should all agree? lol
Quote:Schaub hardly did squat in Atlanta prior to being dealt to Houston. Wrong again Pedro. Schaub played great in the preseason. I remember we played them in 2006 and Schaub was brilliant. That was why Houston was willing to give up so much to get him. He was considered a hot commodity. Mallett has not done anything close.
Quote:How many years did Brunell have left on his rookie deal when we traded for him. Or Schaub when Houston traded for him....or Hasselbeck when Seattle traded for him?.... Difference is, they actually showed something, even a little bit, in NFL. Mallett hasn't done anything, and was terrible even in pre-season.

Quote: Oh please, the only reason they drafted him (having Brady securely in tow) was with the intent of trying to get a windfall in a trade later on. They miscalculated because Brady has missed zero time to injury since, and there was no available snaps to give to showcase Mallett. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Wrong again Pedro. Quinn Gray played great in the preseason too, (as much as I liked him, it proved out that pre season stat padding meant nothing) just stop.....you aren't raising trade value by pre-season performance alone.

You don't remember Mallett being a hot commodity, huh? They could have put him in during one of their many blowout wins since Mallet has been on the squad. But they didn't. Quote:Quinn Gray played great in the preseason too, (as much as I liked him, it proved out that pre season stat padding meant nothing) just stop.....you aren't raising trade value by pre-season performance alone. Then why would you advocating trading a 2nd round pick for Mallet when he wasn't worth that to begin with? You're just throwing away value. Quote:Hasn't been given an opportunity to yet. THat happens when Tom Brady is ahead of you on the depth chart. Most backups to good QBs help their trade value in the preseason. He hasn't, and it's not because he's not getting on the field because of Brady. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Quinn Gray played great in the preseason too, (as much as I liked him, it proved out that pre season stat padding meant nothing) just stop.....you aren't raising trade value by pre-season performance alone. The same Quinn Gray who you're now saying padded those stats was the guy you labeled the best QB on the roster based on what you're calling "fluff" now. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:They could have put him in during one of their many blowout wins since Mallet has been on the squad. But they didn't. Because that would be an admission he was wrong about Mallett. The Gene Smith of this message board is never going to do that. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:They could have put him in during one of their many blowout wins since Mallet has been on the squad. But they didn't. Mallett didn't fall to the 3rd because of perception that he couldn't play - he fell because of alleged off field concerns. Quote:Most backups to good QBs help their trade value in the preseason. He hasn't, and it's not because he's not getting on the field because of Brady. Tell me....which Patriots QB including Brady, other than Mallett have looked good in Patriots preseason over the last several years. Seems to me, it wasn't just a "Mallett" problem. |
