Gerhart agrees to terms w/ Jaguars

Quote:I remember saying that the Jags should trade their 2nd rounder for Mallett, and you and others claimed Mallett wasn't even worth a 4th.....now today it comes out that Mallett is close to being dealt for a ..........wait for it..........a 2nd round pick.

Yes, I clearly have no idea what players are worth, do i?

Yep, you have no idea.

Quote:I like him as a power back in a power running scheme.

We are a zone blocking scheme. I would think we need a quicker back.

But welcome, Gerhart.
You dont need speed for a ZBS. You need patience and vision which Toby has. Look at Alfred Morris and Arian Foster which both teams run ZBS, Gerhart is faster than both of them.

Very solid in the games I saw this year when he got carries. In a ZBS, he should fit in pretty well. Not fast, but he is a workhorse.

oh whats that, his "timed" speed.

Remember Matt JOnes 4.38? I do.

Gerhart doesn't play at 4.53.

This is absolutely correct, and if you know anything about Gerhart that is what he is known for, his patience and vision. Nice power back, and should come at a good price. Solid signing.

This signing makes little sense.
You dont know what you are talking about again. Wouldnt Texans and Redskins want faster backs since they have 2 of the slower starting backs in the league?

For Toby Gerhart and the #Jaguars, it’s a 3-year deal worth $10.5M with $4.5M guaranteed. Strong.

Gerhart is arguably the best RB in the AFCS now

Sure he does.

See how easy that is? Just saying stuff as if I'm an authority figure?

Gerhart is a power back, it's a yawn signing, hopefully with some upside as he's only 26 and has never had a full load to carry.

I still want us to draft a RB though. Give me Devonte Freeman.

Steal and perfect length. Four years would be a stretch

I was referring about exploding through the holes.

But I hope you guys are right. To me he seems a great fit for a JDR style offense.

Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Quote:We just may get MJD back, so far I have not heard anything about teams interested in him. I did not think there would be a rush to sigh him but I also thought by now there would be some news. I think Caldwell let him go to free agency to establish just what his value is and then he will decide if resigning him is worth the money. I think everyone knows MJD thinks he should be paid more money then he may be worth. I think it is a smart move by Caldwell so if the Jaguars do match a offer then MJD can get back to playing football without feeling he is under paid.

Agreed. Mojo isn't the player during his prime, but he's still a solid back. Let it all play out and he may return in a month.
