Honest opinion on what you think Dave's mindset is....

He was here JUST for Teddy, and when it became clear he wouldn't be ours, he left.Yes, this is what I mean. Most of us don't need/want transient fans of only a player that will come and go as the player does or doesn't. Matt Jones brought his hoards and they're all gone. Tebow brought his hoards and now they're all gone. Manziel is now bringing his hoards, and as soon as he isn't on the Jags one way or another they'll be gone. So far VW is the only Teddy stan I've seen so far though haha.
Quote: As soon as the Jags pass on him, or take him and he fails you will move on too.And like I said before. I can live if we pick Teddy. Heck, I'll be thrilled and will prolly buy the kid's jersey. But you can't say the same about Manziel. So I feel you are in the position of which you speak. What the hell are you going to do if they actually pick the guy you hate so much? Delete old posts, change your Teddy train into a Johnny train? hmmmm, look in a mirror pal before you start throwing around accusations
I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Just food for thought, I appreciate your presence here though man. I wondered what happened to him? Quote:Says the guy from Kentucky, with a Kentucky QB as his picture. Okay my unbiased bro.I've been posting on these boards since Teddy was in middle school, and I will be posting here after Teddy retires a Texan. I live in Lexingon and am a Gator fan. And I also like Bortles a ton, and am basically the only person who still likes Carr. I prove on here every day that my biases are none. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:If you want to be. If you advocate taking Manziel at 3 over Clowney/Bridgewater then I don't know what to tell you.I'd take him over Clowney, a dominating DE doesn't win you games. See JJ Watt and the 2-14 Texans. Need a QB, period.
He got booted for some reason.

I would root for Manziel as hard as I ever have for any other Jaguar. I just fear the masses have been hypnotized by the show, excitement, brazenness, emotions, etc that come with watching Johnny, and have not taken the time to really look at his skills and how they will or won't transfer to the bigger/stronger/faster and especially more disciplined NFL."
Quote:Posted by KYjaggy on 01 January 2014 - 02:37 AM in College FootballI wish you knew how much I respected your opinion on that. Because I do. And message-boards can only convey so much sentiment. Take this though as me metaphorically shaking hands with you like men, like fellow Jag fans. Listen, I get it, you like Teddy, and I like Manziel, and you've prolly got more NFL scouts that agree with you. I'm not looking for a fight though, despite what it seems. If you really are a Jags fan, then you're on my side, we're on the same team afterall. Sorry if my excitement ever turns into annoyance. And I mean that.

That's really my scope of how I view the Jags first pick. It would be truly hard for me to downright hate whoever gets picked (as long as it's not another OT). Unfortunately, they don't let you have 8 profile pictures so I guess I look like a raging Teddy homer when I'm not at all. I hope you mean what you say about being a Jags fan though, and do in fact stick around if Johnny winds up not being the pick. Any passionate true Jags fan is a friend of mine.

I just took a look at 15 of the latest mocks.....about half have us getting Bortles.....the other half.......Manziel.......one mock has Bridgewater falling to us
For real for real now, any jaguar fan who is here at this dire time is a friend of mine as well. Only true fans are left on this MB at this point, we all have different views but at the end of the day we all bleed teal. Hopefully ill be attending school in FL next year and will be able to tailgate with some of you guys.
As for the topic, Dave is smarter than me, but theres really no pick I would be upset with. Assuming Teddy and Clowney are off the board the only real possibilities IMO are a different QB or Mack. I guess the only pick I would hate is Barr but I dont think Dave will pick him. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Lets all pray.

Unfortunately, they don't let you have 8 profile pictures so I guess I look like a raging Teddy homer when I'm not at all.I do respect KY eval in many threads and unbiased approach especially regarding the QB discussions. And although I disagree with him about Carr, I think he is to much of a risk for such a high pick, and I sincerely hope Bortles decides to stay another year because I think he could use it. I do tend to agree with his Johnny football eval. I really worry about his game translating to the nfl. And although I think his intangibles may be attractive to many, and I admit they even get me excited especially watching him pull his team out of a slump, and having to overcome a weak defense weak in and weak out, I have a hard time ignoring the fact that on many of his "amazing plays" he simply neglects his fundamentals and abandons his progression, often times passing on open receivers just to scramble for ten seconds to make some amazing play to his check down or someone that has managed to wiggle free. How can that possibly work in the nfl? I think that this thread has taken a Bridgwater vs manziel turn that I think is wasteful. If Bridgwater is available I think you take him. He is the best and I think most would agree, he would make us better instantly. If he is not, which as of right now, it does not look like he is going to be, I think there is a pretty steep drop in terms of NFL ready ability and play that will clearly translate. Steep enough for me to prefer to pass on a QB with #3 and/ or trade down for more picks if we don't like the left over of Barr \ Clowney. I am not so sure a OLB in Mack is worth a #3, can't remember when the last time there was a significant impact OLB drafted so high? And we have many other holes to fill. For what it's worth my opinion on the QBs #1 Bridgwater- most nfl ready, in an nfl system, pocket pr. Footwork, football iq, accuracy, and has even carried team against team with more talent (Florida) #2 Manziel-based on accuracy and intangibles he may bring as well as putting jaguar football on the map. That alone gets me excited. Negatives mentioned above #3Carr Tough one here for me, I could easily go Bortles here or even maybe Aaron Murray, but Carr easily throws the best ball of the three. He has shown improvement to this point. But I think a lot of his success is due to a system that has not called on him to really go through progressions and deliver good accurate passes, while manipulating defeneders and a pocket. Instead, his deep balls come from, fake screen and go's sluggo's and such. Also he still has a way to go to prove he can deliver undr nfl pressure. 3. I guess Bortles, although as I stated I hope he stays, I think he has great potential, but he has only started for one year, and it shows. I think he is a few years away from being NFL ready, we don't need that. 4. Murray: I have to admit I am only putting him here because I really am not a fan of Boyd Mcarron or mettenburger, but he has shown an accurate deep ball throughout his career, reminds me a little of stafford. 5-rest of fales, Boyd, Mcarron and others will be available for us in much later rounds, they will need to be worked and developed, and even then some will just be perennial backups. For the record, I also love Watkins, although not at three. And would be in favor of amaro, or Hebron if we were to trade down. It is a dilemma, and I feel for Johnnyjag. I get really excited when thinking of someone like Johnny football tearing up the NFL in a jag uniform, being the talk of the league week in and week out. But I can't ignore what my eyes have seen. I will say this, before this season, I wanted no part of Johnny football, he has moved up my board with his play and his ability to inspire his teammates. and he moved up another notch after watching him in that bowl game, he is growing on me. I can't be the only one?? Right? |
