Henne strikes again!

Quote:I'll go out on a limb here with 2 things:

1. The first round pick of the Jags next May will not be a QB. They will select one, but not in the first.

2. Henne will be the opening day starter next September.
While not a big fan of this, Im thinking youre dead on with this!

Quote:Even though he had the game winning TD pass against the Browns, I just have no confidence that Henne can successfully execute a game winning drive. NONE.

I can only imagine what the coaches think of Henne in the clutch from what we have seen this season.

There's no question in my mind that a QB is a very big priority in the offseason. How can it not???
I Watched that game and he almost missed that throw

lol, you are right, it was almost overthrown. CS3 made a great catch in his hometown.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

To be fair, if Henne overthrew that ball, then Shorts almost damn near dropped it.

I think it was a better throw than you guys are giving him credit for.

Shorts didn't catch it cleanly for some reason.

I always give the GM the benefit of the doubt when it comes to picking players. I won't be mad if we pass on QB in the 1st round if that is what happens.  I would also be alright if Henne starts the season as QB, even if we draft QB in the 1st round...After the Gabbert debacle (not all Gabbert's fault) I think erring on the side of caution and letting the rookie QB watch for a few weeks can't hurt at all.

I will add this...it will be a LONG 24 hours / rest of the 1st round/start of the 2nd until we do turn in our card and draft a QB.

60% of the Time...It works everytime...

Quote:I'm laughing at the excuses. I know henne sucks. I know he's the best we got. Our entire QB situation is a reason to lol
Excuses or reasons?

He was in there with a patched offensive line, no running game, and a WR group that would not start for any team if it weren't for injury.  There is no excuse there.

I know we are in Dire Straits for a QB. Lets not give credit where it was due.  Henne played pretty good under the circumstances

This thread reminds me of why we Jags fans are still thought of as a bunch of noobs.

I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Why people have a strong conviction on this situation as far as henne starting next year and not going qb first round?

you know what? I like Henne.  He's not a good QB by any means, and I hope we somehow land Teddy - but overall I like the guy.  He seems reasonable, hard working, and not "high maintenance" if you know what I mean.  Just does his job quietly.  Would like to see him stick around for a backup role with us.  Maybe he'll even start some more games for us while our rookie is still learning or whatever.

I don't even think Henne could actually "mentor" a rookie qb when we bring one in.. The rook may "mentor" Henne..

Is it just me or does he overthrow A LOT?? Is it the receivers or him?

You know what we need? We need Eeyore's assessment of the game.. We need him to come break the game down for us and give us his insight..

Thought I saw him earlier.. He was trying to hang himself with a bungee cord from a tree limb.. Poor guy went to the hospital with a nasty concussion..

I figured he would check out one way or another once we lost a chance at the number one pick...concussion by bungee is a new one though

Quote:People didn't mind doing it to Garrard. Yeah he was the long term starter at one point but that wasn't his fault.
Apples and oranges.

Garrard was given the largest contract in franchise history following the 2007 season. There was some expectation that he'd better be the guy based on that.

Henne's not playing under some blockbuster deal, and nobody is expecting him to be the guy. He's nothing but a placeholder.

Try again.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
