McShay 2014 NFL Mock Draft 1.0

I personally am not a big fan of Vick, was just giving examples of what veteran routes we could go down if taking one of the QBs when our draft slot comes up isnt the best option. Given the obvious high level of coaching we have in the organisation even bringing Vick in would be a massive improvement over Henne if he can stay fit. He's obviously had quite a bit of success in the past. Cutler though would be a better fit I think for the offence. I'm probably alone in thinking this, but with the amount of young players in the team, perhaps having a QB thats been in the league a while (but also has some degree of talent) wouldnt be a disaster. Quote:I personally am not a big fan of Vick, was just giving examples of what veteran routes we could go down if taking one of the QBs when our draft slot comes up isnt the best option. your not alone, i would like to see a more established qb bed in the line especially if we go rookies at centre and guard then patzor and joeckel at tackle with uche the lone vet. That worries me especially with inexperience under centre. I would prefer us to take a more pro ready qb like bridgewater, mcarron or fales than your "high ceiling" qbs like bortles or mettenberger not a fan of carr at all, (that being said i wish we had the luxury of a vet qb and being able to sit bortles for a season, I like the kid alot he has that luck style bravery, has a lovely arm, great presence and doesn't stare down his read too badly, but he trusts his arm too much and i reckon he needs time to develop it) i'm just not seeing a vet guy i want on my team in the free agency or for a pick i'm willing to sacrifice. Cousins for a second or higher, puts a bad taste in my throat, not sure why, good qb but thats alot to spend , vick will be out half the season as is his pattern, cutler is eratic and i don't think the bears will let mccown go as well as cutler. If we got him for nothing josh mccown would be someone I would be happy to put in for a season. older guy, nice arm would be happy to sign a one year contract and i think would be a solid mentor for a rookie, but then henne knows the system will be cheap and has more years in him.
I'll be satisfied with any QB they bring in because anyone would be better than what we have.

I certainly don't pretend to know enough about prospects to make a prediction, but how cool would it be if we drafted Manziel and his game ended up translating to the NFL? He'd bring so much excitement on gameday. A winning team with an exciting QB - the "Bank" would be the place to be on gameday!
That's why I'm kind of rooting for this to play out.

I think he'd be Gus's kind of QB.....not so sure about Caldwell's tho. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:I'll take that bet. What is the wager? Make it a signature bet and I'm in. Under 6'00'' I win Above 6'00'' you win I'm not creative with this kind of stuff, so I'll let you decide... Quote:Make it a signature bet and I'm in. I like that. The winner gets to write the losers signature that will be posted for one month. In the spirit of friendly competition I accept your wager. Good luck to you sir and may the best man enjoy victory. Quote:Cool...if we get Johnny Ego, Blackmon will have someone to hang out with during league suspensions..... ![]() btw, any word on him at all? progress or relapse?
Because Jaguars is our mantra

Quote:He's been on the first round radar since last year, but no one thought he had a chance to declare until recently. Now that it looks like he is strongly considering (if not leaning toward it) he is getting the national attention he's been getting on a small scale level for over a year now. That's all that's changed really. That and a lot of the other QBs initially projected in the 1st round took a stumble this season.
Its a possibility we draft Manziel but it wont be in the first round. I see a potential for him to drop out of the first round if scouts find his arm is suspect or he's deemed to be a bad-character guy

I would be highly surprised if he dropped out of round 1. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:LOL Caldwell can't be that ridiculous. You take Clowney in that situation or Carr if you really want a QB. Carr fits our offense more so than Johnny Football. Clowney and Fales in the third would be great! Carr fits our offense? in wat way? He gonna be a Gabbert 2.0? Geez crazy how far people will reach wen in despite need of a QB, Carr gonna end up like his brother. Watch, bust!. I'm not sayin I want manziel but at least he is mobile and has big play ability.
