Not sure how overrated, but he reminds me of Peyton Manning, except more mobile. He's going to shatter NFL passing and rushing records.

yeah i already acknowledged this quote in this thread. my only problem is people calling him the next andrew luck or some sort.

ive stated many times if the underclassmens declares (hundley, manziel, mariota) its a very deep class. teddy seems to be the most polished, most ready qb in the class.

The biggest compliment I've seen is somebody calling him the second best QB prospect since Manning -- which would imply he was behind Luck in that regard.

Maybe I missed where somebody said he was the next Luck?

I don't have a problem with that, primarily because Andrew Luck (imo) was a bit overrated coming out of Stanford, I'd have a bigger issue if someone called him the next Peyton Manning.

ive read some quotes that he commands the offense like peyton, smart and read defenses like peyton during college, though with all that in mind i have yet to hear him compared prospect wise to peyton/luck from people who has actually scouted. Im even waiting for media consensus of his status prospect wise. i just dont wanna jump the gun because its only october.

ive seen in this board the past few weeks teddy being compared to luck, or just a tad below him prospect wise. if you scour through the teddy threads there are some.

I'd agree with this part. I'd say he's just a notch below Luck as a prospect. I don't think that's farfetched at all.

I don't understand the premise of this thread.

How are we supposed to know if Bridgewater is overrated when he hasn't performed in a game yet?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

hahahah I hope you're joking. He took a 2 win Colts team to the playoffs and has them 4-1 with wins against the Seahawks and 49ers. If anything, he was underrated.

Luck seems to have a bit more bulk than Bridgewater, and he had an excellent pedigree -- son of an NFL quarterback, three-year starter at a school that had produced several pro-bowlers at his position, and coached by a former first-round quarterback.

Outside of that, I don't see much that really distinguishes him from Teddy as a prospect. A lot of it is reputation and the hype from turning down the Panthers to stay another year in school. I will say that Luck never had a single game as jaw-droppingly impressive in college as last season's Sugar Bowl.

But that's still a bit nebulous, and not grounded on anything but speculation, right? I don't mean to rain on the parade, but I don't see the enjoyment of speculating just how wrong someone's opinion is of something that hasn't even happened yet.

Now, if you want to rank Bridgewater in terms of his peers, that's something that I can get behind, but this just seems a bit silly.

well almost everyone is pretty much in agreement that he is the best qb prospect in this draft so theres really no reason to debate that. since that is over with the only next thing to do is rank him among the best qb prospects recently, i mean right? my problem though is hes being touted, in this board, as being the next great prospect comparable to andrew luck, but have yet to see any scout or consensus media opinion on his ranking as a prospect, and its only october.

There's a widely reported and half-serious "Tank for Teddy" campaign that's being conducted among several fanbases right now. How many other quarterbacks in the 21st century had that? There was "Suck for Luck", and... what else?

not sure though but wasnt that kind of campaign started with luck? due to the colts apparently tanking? ive also heard the bust for barkley early last year lol
