Quote:Beasley being a better athlete than Fowler and Yannick isnt an opinion. Its just what the numbers say.

Yannick - <a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.mockdraftable.com/player/7372/'>http://www.mockdraftable.com/player/7372/</a>

Fowler - <a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.mockdraftable.com/player/4914/'>http://www.mockdraftable.com/player/4914/</a>

You know as well as I do that numbers like this do not determine how good a football player is going to be in the NFL. Some guys are workout warriors who disappear on game day. I'm not saying our young pass rushers will ever be great, but give them more than one season to prove themselves.

Yannick can and is overcoming his athletic profile because he can bend. Fowler probably won't and definitely hasn't so far because he is stiff as a board in addition to being a subpar athlete.

Im not saying theyre the be all end all n

but you told me Beasleys atheltic superiority was an opinion when it wasnt.

Im fine with giving yannick more time cause hes doing well for a rookie and was a good, productive college player so theres reason to be optimistic about him. But he might never become better than what he is right now either. Some players dont grow.

Fowler just isnt good, you can tell me he needs more time but theres really nothing to be optimistic about with him hes just not good at football. One decent edge isnt nearly enough to cut it, thats why its more important than going oline. A good quarterback could make this line work, and that would open up the run game as well. its just that we dont have a good quarterback.

Again, I'm not saying we ignore edge pass rusher. While I really like Yannick and believe he has a bright future. I'm not high on Fowler as a DE, but in time, he may prove me wrong. I'm not ready to throw in the towel after one season. I'd still draft a DE, just not in round 1. There are other top pass rushers who will probably fall in this draft. It's loaded with pass rushers like Demarcus Walker of Florida State, Hunter Dimick of Utah, Harold Landry of Boston College, Takkarist McKinney of UCLA and Jordan Willis of Kansas State. That's just to naming some guys off the top of my head. We don't have to stay at the top and take Myles Garrett when there's guys just as good to be had later. This draft is going to be very deep at D-Line.

As for the QB, unless we sign Kirk Cousins in free agency, I don't see much of an upgrade out there, so I'd put off the QB talk until 2017.

i have no idea who any of those guys are but im super confident in believing none of them are better than Myles.

If you don't know who they are, you can't be that confident. Apparently you're just following who other people tell you is good. There are other great pass rushers who will be available as well, but those are the guys who just popped into my head.

Quote:Pass rush is just as much a need as oline and olinemen are easier to find than a great pass rusher. That plan isnt good.
I can see both sides of this argument.

I can see not fully trusting Fowler to be a stud pass rushing DE.  I can see the argument that you can never have too many pass rushers.  I can see the argument that DE might be BAP when we pick.

But I also see a huge need at OL, to the point we need numbers at the position.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!
