You tell people here all the time how stupid their opinions are

You tell because that because they don't agree with you they are wrong

You quote 'facts' all the time and when told or shown you are wrong you [BAD WORD REMOVED] and moan about how persecuted you are
You expect us to be nice to you when you treat us all like we're idiots because that's how you see us

You are hostile to anyone who doesn't share your point of view

 

I could go on but I don't want to be the mean person here. I'll leave that up to you. Unless and until you start treating everyone how you want to be treated you cannot expect us to be anything other than civil- forget about being respectful or even nice.

 

To be fair, she actually is a nice person.  She has a disability that most people don't understand or comprehend.  Is she difficult to deal with sometimes?  Of course.  However, she is not like people make her out to be.  To call someone not a nice person and say that they "see us as idiots" is pretty wrong in my opinion.  If you took a bit of time to understand how someone like her thinks, then you might be just a little bit more understanding.

 

I quite frankly left a fan group years ago (Jagnation) because I heard what their "leadership" thought of and how they talked about people (including yourself).  I heard the "leadership" of that group openly mocking fans that supported them because of their disabilities.  When we used to do a podcast, I was able to hear them make very offensive and racist comments about other fans.  I personally don't want to be associated with people of their ilk.

 

By the way, that group for the most part folded.  One segment is still around and is why I refuse to even visit the website (BCC).  In all honesty, Alfie was one of the biggest offenders.

 

One member on this board who I admire and have the utmost respect for is D6.  I have seen many interactions and dialog between him and MJF.  I don't think I have ever seen one post of his that was derogatory or hateful towards her.  Perhaps if people learned and tried to be more like him meaningful change can really come about.

 

I for one much like D6 am conservative and hold many of the same values that he does.  I also happen to follow a certain religion that teaches "do unto others as you would want them to do unto you".  If you ask me, that's what this country really needs right now.

Did you ever notice people who like me treat me with respect? Did you ever notice I am never mean to them? They have proven many times all it takes is being nice to me if you want me to be nice to you.

You're welcome.  I've always tried to defend those that can't defend themselves.

 

One thing that you do need to understand is that people don't see some of your comments sometimes as "normal".  What is "true or false" in your mind might not be reality.  To try to get this thread back on topic, I suggest you take a few minutes of your time and actually watch the interview.  Listen to what our next President has to say.  He certainly wasn't my first choice, but I feel more comfortable with him moving into the White House than I would if Hillary was moving in.

 

Rather than ask people what he said, look for yourself.  Comment on the interview rather than what your mother tells you or what you see on AOL.

I appreciate what you did back in the day. You saw things others didn't or were unwilling to see. I completely understand where you're coming from on all fronts and I actually do empathize with her to a point. Because of something you said a week or so ago I started paying attention to what she says in a more open-minded way, but it's difficult. I have serious issues as well and I make sure to keep away from situations where the issue could become a problem. I would say maybe her condition and mine are not compatible, thus the disconnect, but I'm not the only one who is bothered by how she treats people.


If what you're doing is making your condition a serious problem then maybe you need to step away. If it means you don't lead a "normal" life then so be it. I have to give up many things because I will not put myself or others in a situation that could be detrimental. I've learned to adapt.


If her condition makes life difficult for her here maybe she needs to reevaluate to determine if it's worth it. It wasn't for me years back and is why I was gone for a long time. When I knew I could handle it I came back. I'm not unsympathetic I just don't get why she comes here if it causes such distress because I didn't and wouldn't again if necessary.

In the days since the election ended I think Trump has done well for himself.

That is not what I meant and I am aware of his job.

 

I meant that I think he has done a good job so far based solely on what he's done (said) since the end of the election.  He still has his moments but overall I think he will come back more towards the middle versus being right or left.  

 

He is easing some of my concerns I had about him becoming POTUS but it is still quite early and he's not even in the White House yet.

Doing well for oneself doesn't mean being selfish. In this scenario it means Trump is doing well despite being in uncharted territory with his new position. Evidently he is doing better than many expected given he's only been in office for six days.
