I like Minter with his experience in the middle....although he may not be playing to a high level at the moment, he's a definite upgrade to our LB backups.

Perhaps, although Matuapuaka really has impressed me as their backup MLB.

Minter does not have the type of speed that the team is looking for out of the lb position
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

The #Jaguars are waiving undrafted rookie DL Lyndon Johnson, a source says. Johnson (6-5/287) is an intriguing practice squad candidate if he is not claimed by another team.

Please mods......the long quotes and reposting of JK are throwing this way off topic. i hope as we approach deadlines you can keep it on Jaguars cuts

Impressive for a guy who died 45 years ago.

It's not just the job of the mods. Individual posters can clean things up by not quoting an entire lengthy post several times on a page. Especially the protracted screeds of, ahem, one particular poster.

I hear Taurean Nixon set him up to get cut.

Really? Why not say so in the topic header? I've seen plenty of tape worms on threads before that aren't mine. If you are that anal retentive why not camp out on this:

EDIT: Players released by other teams that might fit the Jaguars aren't really "Off-topic"

Pelissero might THINK he is a practice squad candidate, but only in his own mind.

Which position groups do you think we might target for waiver wire signings? Depth at LB, surely. And maybe if anything interesting pops up for OL depth? If someone *really* interesting shows up at WR that could be worth a look, too.

Don’t expect much movement. This team is pretty stacked when compared to previous years. Like you said it would have to be “someone really interesting” with huge upside.

Check in on the waiver wire post in THE LEAGUE topic group.

I suppose some here don't realize you can edit down quotes or multiple quotes that you're trying to answer so it won't produce a huge page most others find a little annoying. iOW....you can have your quote and eat it too.

@JK - tape worms.....that's a funny name ......

I try to utilize the other reply button [NEW REPLY] as much as possible. Tapeworm is acutally one word. It's newspaper jargon for a very long, very detailed, finely researched essay-length article. Editors go cross-eyed attempting to contemplate them. Awful to see for the first time at deadline.

Here’s the list:

https://www.jaguars.com/news/roster-redu...53-players

OG Josh Walker making the team was a surprise. We are 10 deep on the line now I believe. Also 11 deep on the defensive line and only 5 deep at CB but we kept Cody Davis to go 5 deep at safety. Mickens and Greene both made the squad. They may dabble on the waiver wire before the weekend is done.

Michael Bennett made the team. Good for him. Somewhere during the season, we'll be happy they kept Geeene. Not sure why, just a hunch.
Walker could be expendable if they pick someone up from waiver wire

Disappointed to see Walker make it. He was terrible. Hopefully we can upgrade over him. It shouldn't be too hard. I would've liked to keep Quenton Meeks. I saw real promise in him. Hopefully he makes the PS along with Wilds. I liked them both. I figured Wells would make it, but he can easily be upgraded as well.
