Quote:As long as the guy continues play like a madman I have no problem with him talking smack. If you've never talked smack before, then you're not a true competitor. They all talk trash on the line before the play, some just don't do it after the play.

Tim duncan never talked smacked but he was dominant at times

As long as he backs it up I have no problem with it. Anyone know how many passes has been completed on him with man to man defense?

Duncan didnt really talk but he had his way of "trash talking" to irritate and intimidate using subtle actions like smirks, laughs, and gestures. Its a different type of trash talk but he certainly did it.

What did he say?

Quote:There's definitely a modern, media driven perception that the great players talk a lot of trash.   Definitely not true.  One example that comes to mind is Marvin Harrison.

Quote:What are everyone's thoughts on Ramsey. I think he is a home run pick and he's shutting every opponent down, but is getting himself into trouble with his mouth. I've been out for awhile so I just want to hear everyone's opinion on #20

I don't think he's gotten himself in trouble yet.  He may at some point since he clearly is fine with talking smack.

I'm not concerned at this point. As long as he keeps playing on a high level and doesn't let players get in his head like Odell keeps doing, he'll be fine.

Yeah I agree nothing wrong with what he is saying. I think part of it is also Jalen building his brand. He knows he would get zero media exposure in Jacksonville even if he balled out. When was the last time a player from the Jags has ever been on a national sports show like First Take? He knows it puts him on the radar. Not that it means anything, but I think he is the most followed Jags player on Instagram. He wants spotlight, and his play deserves it.

Who cares what he says so long as he does good on the field...which he clearly is.

I know he's still young but he should lined up on the best wr the other team has to offer. If he gets beat, so be it.

No way... okay... It's not that I don't like him talking his talk... we're losing. We are losing... you can cite Tim Duncan, he has 5 rings. You can cite Deion, he has rings, too. Jalen has one win. It's not crazy for me to roll my eyes at Ramsey when we lose. This thread is about how good he is

But it's not Ramsey's fault we are losing. He's doing his job, and he's doing it extremely well.

IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

I hate to break it to you but guys like Sanders were talking trash long before they won anything.

It's pretty ignorant to act like he waited until after he won titles.

Reminds me of Sherman talking crap. Sherman is more upfront with it though. Sherman got in front of Tom Brady and Steve Smith got in front of Ramsey.

This disgusts me to my core as a gator fan, but swag is one of the reasons you draft him. If he was soft it would bother me, but he's one of the toughest corners I've ever seen!

I think you see swag a lot with cornerbacks, and likely it's a psychological thing I imagine, the league were in now all the pundits ever talk about is how good the wide receivers are etc, I think cornerbacks talking themselves up would get into the head of the receivers and maybe knock them down a peg before going into a game. If you create doubt and fear into the minds of the wide receivers they will likely start over thinking catches, pushing off for edges etc

Just my two cents.

Does anyone else think Ramsey might be a sociopath?

It isn't so much what he says, but his tone and expression. He seems like he has no empathy.

Don't really care provided he follows the rules (and the law), but he is unsettling. Super talented though.

Because of what he says concerning a football game? Lol
