***Official 2016 Vice Presidential Debate Thread***
|
Quote:That's not the point. The point is that Pence implicitly acknowledged that Trump had said he's in favor of criminalizing abortion, but it doesn't matter because Trump isn't a polished politician. You don't have to be wearing glasses to read between the lines on that one: the words coming out of Trump's mouth don't matter because he doesn't know what he's doing. Pence could have answered it more clearly. It was a loaded question from Chris Matthews where he asked IF abortion was illegal, would you punish those who commit abortions. Like any logical person, you believe if someone BREAKS THE LAW, you get punished. Trump answered as such. Following political backlash from what should have been a common sense, logical answer, he was forced to correct himself. However, That explanation takes time and effort, and spending all that time when he could just say "Nope." isn't worth it. It isn't worth it optically or politically. Quote:Pence huge own goal late, but fox news trying to spin it as a win. Ok... It was a win, but CNN and MSNBC are spinning it as a loss. What is your point? Quote:It was a win, but CNN and MSNBC are spinning it as a loss. What is your point? VP debates typically have no impact on polls unless you just bomb. Neither guy bombed. Pence pro life stance at the end wasn't wise for new votes. Quote:Pence huge own goal late, but fox news trying to spin it as a win. Ok... Quote:It was a win, but CNN and MSNBC are spinning it as a loss. What is your point? They both look like absolute idiots for very different reasons. Remind me again of why the Libertarian Party shouldn't be allowed to provide a third voice that might possibly rise above that stupidity? Just don't ask anyone about Aleppo. Quote:It was a win, but CNN and MSNBC are spinning it as a loss. What is your point? That's not what I heard on CNN. Are you just assuming? I think Pence came across more likable but couldn't defend Trumps statements being fired his way in quick succession.
Quote:Actually she said he had 30 seconds and had previously tried to move on, Pence tried to squeeze it in a bit late. Bit of a fail there. The first headline I saw when I got back online was specifically about that link posted earlier. http://www.aol.com/article/2016/10/04/th...ws-main-bb
Pence wins on presentation. I don't think he defended Trump very well though. Kaine came across rather poorly. In fact both came across as incredibly unlikable to me. Kaine's best moment was probably when he said he would uphold the law, regardless of his own beliefs. Not a fan of the choice of either of these two people tbqh. Though I'd still take Kaine over Pence.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Think Pence won if it was a presidential debate, but as Vice Presidential debate he lost because he couldn't defend his candidate.
Next week we will just remember that Pence didn't defend Trump. In fact I can't remember half of what was said already. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

You don't have to be wearing glasses to read between the lines on that one: the words coming out of Trump's mouth don't matter because he doesn't know what he's doing. What was he doing? Confirming what Tim Kaine said multiple times about his hatred of women.
Quote:What was he doing? Confirming what Tim Kaine said multiple times about his hatred of women. How does Donald Trump hate all women? Insulting women who are terrible human beings means you hate all women? Bunnie, can you confirm this theory?
Quote:It was a win, but CNN and MSNBC are spinning it as a loss. What is your point? CNN is spinning it as a win for Pence because of his speaking style - not interrupting Kaine (which he actually did), refusing to defend Trump when Kaine hurled attacked him with true statements, and staying calm. However the analysts also emphasized the point that Kaine's "insults" were all 100% correct. What I don't understand is why do CNN analysts like Pence's refusal to defend Trump when Kaine tried to get those answers? Mike Pence: "I am catching up with the insult-ridden campaign." That does not sound like a guy I want to be my Vice President. Quote:How does Donald Trump hate all women? He only disparages women he deems terrible human beings? What I don't understand is why do CNN analysts like Pence's refusal to defend Trump when Kaine tried to get those answers? It is a debate tactic. You throw as many objectionable statements as possible at your opponent who obviously doesn't have time to respond to every one of them. How the hell is Pence going to defend 6 attacks against Trump in a 30 second response? Obviously he can't. http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Gish_Gallop When the Clinton/Kaine strategy is to scream racist, misogynist, xenophobe, Islamophobia, etc after every single moderator question, you just have to sit back and laugh. It is scripted and robotic, just like how Rubio looked in New Hampshire.
Quote:He only disparages women he deems terrible human beings? Who specifically has he disparaged that personally offends you? Megan Kelly? That makes him hate all women? Alright then. This country needs thicker skin.
Quote:How does Donald Trump hate all women? Listen to Tim Kaine again. He attacked Donald Trump for calling women "slobs, pigs, dogs, and disgusting." CNN confirmed those claims are correct - Trump really did call women in general all that crap. Notice I am generalizing here because the candidates did. Quote:It is a debate tactic. It seemed more like an audition for Pence to me. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Listen to Tim Kaine again. He attacked Donald Trump for calling women "slobs, pigs, dogs, and disgusting." CNN confirmed those claims are correct - Trump really did cal women in general derogatory terms and disgusting.Lol what?!? I have called women slobs, pigs, dogs, and disgusting, and I freaking love women! Trump has also called women wonderful, beautiful, loving, etc. Does that make him a womanizer, too? Also, DJT pays his female staffers more than Hillary Clinton pays hers. Why doesn't Hillary pay her female staffers what they deserve?
Quote:Lol what?!? You are fighting a losing battle here with all of these morons. Save your sanity.
Quote:Lol what?!? It may not seem derogatory to you and your female friends, but women voters don't forget what was said and written about them that was clearly nothing less than completely baseless insults. The abortion part - which I stand both ways on - is an example of Trump not wanting women to do what is right for them. Pence's POV was women should be punished for making a private decision based on medical testing, family, current medications, etc. If Trump loves women as much as he says privately, why doesn't he make that clear in all of his public rallies and speeches? Why do these two guys refuse to accept the fact that voters care about what they call a whole demographic these stupid names and descriptions of wonderful people. |
