I'm tempering my excitement for Cole. I've been thinking he's a longshot to make the roster, but if Lee ends up on PUP to start the season that would certainly let Cole stick around at least early on this season.
Let's review Cole's history with the team...

'02- doesn't look like any room for Michael Walker.
Season Ticket holder since 2004.

Yep Westbrook at #1. Well I'd disagree on that aspect to be honest. Only really see Dede as potentially having a great season , at best Cole probably just matches his rookie year. Maybe Chark takes a good sized leap forward but the rest kind of are what they are for me (06-09-2019, 02:45 PM)JackCity Wrote:I guess great season was a stretch.(06-09-2019, 09:38 AM)Cleatwood Wrote: Westbrook as the #1? What I meant was a WR having 800 yards. Would it shock you if Chark, Conley, Westbrook or Cole bad 800 yards? Who would shock you the most? I’m not including Lee because no one knows when he’s really coming back.
I think Westbrook will be *our* #1 WR, but if you told me someone emerged from our corps to be a real WR1 I would say it's Chark...even if that is unlikely. I think Dede is solid, but that his ceiling is WR2 level.

Chark too but that's more because I think he tops out at third in targets amongst the WRs We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! He needs to prove he can keep his head in the game an eliminate the turnovers.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Conley is useless. Cole deserves a spot over Conley.

DiRocco's blurb on DeFilippo's comments on the Jags WR corps:
Jaguars OC John DeFilippo said he has a much better opinion of the team's receivers than he did when he first was hired in January. He especially likes the fact that there are different types of receivers. Plus, Marqise Lee hasn't practiced yet as he returns from a knee injury so Lee's return will only make the group better in the fall. "I’m going to be flat out honest with you: It [his opinion] has [changed]," DeFilippo said. "We have a lot more speed there than I thought. We have some guys in that room that can fly, some big guys that can fly. I’m a big believer in the receiver room and diversity. When I say diversity, it doesn’t have anything to do with where you’re from or your race or whatever. Different body types, different skill levels, in terms of [us having] a bigger guy that can body someone up and maybe a guy like Dede Westbrook that is a little bit of a smaller guy, but can wiggle and get himself open in different ways. You don’t want all big guys. You don’t want all small guys. You want a good, diverse group in that room that brings different skill sets to the table.” (06-11-2019, 01:41 AM)Jags02 Wrote: At this point, I'm thinking... Oops, I overlooked CJ Board, so...

Lends some credence to your hypothesis. https://www.espn.com/blog/jacksonville-j...experience Quote:... I'll reiterate my assertion that this WR group can provide the production necessary to make the Jags new offense function effectively. They may not put up gaudy numbers as individuals, but they shouldn't need to with the expected use of backs and tight ends in the passing attack. We show less advertisements to registered users. Cole hopefully will be our shinning star coming out of camp and I expect it to last. Time Will Tell. NH3...

At the end of the minicamp Marrone mentioned that CJ Board has put himself in position to possibly earn a roster spot. With that in mind, I've tweaked my Jaguars WR ranking slightly...
