I think we’ll see something closer to weeks 2 and 3 in the passing game next week so we should all be happier as a result regardless. We show less advertisements to registered users. And after yesterday's loss I think they're going to come out pissed off and swinging

To take a divisional team lightly and underestimate a team that has beat you 8 straight would be one of the dumbest things in recent memory lol I hope so too. Texans do have a good oline but we need to dominate the line of scrimage on both sides. Josh Allen will have a tough one this week but hopefully Walker can dominate Howard. Jerry Hughes is really good so we need to make sure he is blocked at all times. Stingley questionable, that will be a huge loss for the Texans if hes out https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/HOU/.../injuries/
Sunday can't get here fast enough. I hope they [BLEEP] wreck the tinhorns this Sunday. Just absolutely [BLEEP] wreck them. I hope the defense doesn't even let them get passed the 50 yard line until it's the 4th quarter and we're up by 31 points after Lawrence just threw his 4th TD on the day.

I really wish they would start Shatley at C, he is proven that he can be decent there. I just dont think Fortner is ready yet

I can't think of many that would disagree with that. I do believe our current line is about average at pass blocking. At run blocking they appear to be solidly below average. Especially when the opposing defense knows a run is coming. Interesting PFF rankings, they have the Eagles as #1. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-offensive-l...tiers-2022 https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-offensive-l...eek-3-2022

I think the offensive game plan can very each game depending on your opponent. I think the oline is better at run blocking than pass blocking. Etienne is averaging 4.2 ypc while J Rob is averaging 4.4. Those aren't below average numbers. Doug just has to run the ball more. This oline is built to run the ball more than it is the pass. The run game can be a QBs best friend but Doug has gotten away from it early at times (10-03-2022, 06:35 PM)Jaguarmeister Wrote:(10-03-2022, 06:24 PM)flgatorsandjags Wrote: They have beat us 8 straight times and all of their games have been close. I didn't hear anything in his presser to make me think one way or the other. I think it will depend on the team we play.

Especially when the opposing defense knows a run is coming. In the Chargers game, they threw more than they passed so who knows what Sunday is gonna bring. However, the team is pretty clearly a pass first offense having thrown more than they ran in 3 of 4 games. I think they pass to set up the run which is fine by me. They’ve done a good job of moving the chains this year. Almost 27 points a game so something is clearly working. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I bet if you went back and ask Doug if he wishes he would of ran it more Sun he would probably say yes when he looks back at the tape and realizes we weren't running the ball that bad not to mention the horrible weather. Be who we are. With the way things were playing out we were one overthrow from being up 21-0. The O lost all its mojo seemingly after one fumble and just never got it going again until really late, but at least they got it going again. Team was overachieving before I'm not going to over react to a road loss to a good team that isn't even in the conference.

It wasn't just a simple over throw either, he had to get rid of the ball because he was about to get lit up if he didn't. He had him and did miss him, but it wasn't like he air mailed it over him from a clean pocket. https://twitter.com/LaurieFitzptrck/stat...2685723648 We show less advertisements to registered users. The run/pass split last game was fine. It was 19/23. Our time of possession and number of plays was just wrecked by the turnovers. You'd also like to see Robinson get a greater share of the carries, but a gameplan that leans slightly pass is just fine for this day and age.

I didn't rewatch this on the all-22 so I could be wrong, but I also felt like it was in the vicinity enough from what I could tell on the broadcast angle that if Agnew saw it coming the whole way he could have properly laid out for it and had a chance. That clip I posted is from the all-22 sideline view and the endzone view. He might have been able to lay out for it, but it would have been a tough catch.

I still can't tell from the two angles there nor the broadcast angle how close or far it was from him. It looks close to me but who knows. It's definitely close and if he had just a step longer he's likely able to track the football enough to try and make a diving attempt on it. We show less advertisements to registered users. Years we should beat them they somehow whack us. I hope we can exercise that demon this year. Exactly. I remember for a number of years when the Jags would go to Houston, they'd break out their "Battle Red" Day uniforms. For some inexplicable reason they seem to get up for us like we get up for the Steelers. Makes no sense whatsoever but there it is.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

If this is true, we will never be good in bad weather. You can't just throw the ball around the field in bad rain and 17 mph wind. He has also said he listens to is coaches so I hope next time his coaches are in is ear saying we need to run the ball and remind him of the bad weather. If we can break our west coast curse, we can break the tinhorns curse.
The teal pants and white jersey curse is real. |
