The losses against the tinhorns and broncos are the daggers. Both awful teams no one should lose to

This right here. If the Jags had won even 1 of those 2, they are realistically in the mix for the WC as well as the division.

The issue now though is consistency. Jags have only once had back-to-back performances.

While it is not necessity for them to beat Dallas next week, this team needs to show up again. Also hopefully Dallas thinks too much of themselves after turning it on late to escape the Texans and having Philly in 2 weeks.

Also the city needs to show up. Can't have the Bank be half Cowboys fans.

Even with this win, we are facing a near impossible feat of winning out + a Titans collapse. They need to lose at least 2 more games including 1 to us and we need to run the table to hit 9-8. Tall task, but this team does look primed to be really good from 2023 onward.

Plus a couple of late injuries I’m worried about.

Maybe the NFL will rig up some magic and make it so that last game of the season vs the tacks will decide who wins the Division and makes the playoffs. They could flex the game into prime time on Sunday night and would make for some good drama leading into the playoffs.

I don't think it's going to happen but we're discussing playoff hope in December. That is one big step forward.

For division:
  • Both Titans and Jags play Dallas. That is probably a loss for both teams, but Jags may have an advantage of better offense and potentially being a road trap game prior to Cowboys v. Eagle.
  • Keys are the Chargers/Titans and Jags/Jets. Both have to go in Jags favor.
  • I also think Houston is wild card. They will play both Titans and Jags tough after the 9 game losing streak, and could easily beat either the Jags or Titans later this year.

WC is really a pipe dream right now, but not out realm.
  • Need Miami and Arizona to win this week.
  • Need Lions and hopefully Seahawks to beat Jets.
  • But real miracle would be needing Chargers to be upset by one of Rams, Colts, or Broncos.
  • Patriots last 3 should all be L's.

WC is basically off the table now with the Chargers win over MIami

Let’s face it, it probably is. But I’ll ride the wave another week knowing the future is bright.

Wow, we are not mathematically eliminated in December

It's a real possibility that they claw all the way back into this thing. Not gonna hold my breath, but it's still possible...... They've just gotta figure out how to win consistently now.

Not only that but it's not even that unlikely.

Titans have to play Chargers - Texans - Cowboys - Jax

We have to play Cowboys - texans - jets - titans

We're only 2 games behind, we could literally win the division at 7-10 if the titans lose out.

I look at it this way.  If the Jaguars win the next four games, they are likely in the playoffs.  All it would take is for the Titans to lose one game (besides the Jaguars game).  The Titans still have to play Cowboys and the Chargers.  Chances are pretty good that the Titans lose to one of those teams.  Of course, the trick is that the Jaguars have to go 4-0.  We've only won 5 all year, so how likely is that?  Still, it's hope.

If the Jaguars lose one game, the odds become tougher, but not crazy crazy if that game isn't against the Titans.  The Titans would basically need to lose to both the Cowboys and the Chargers.  That's not probable, but not unrealistic either. It could happen.

If the Jaguars lose two games or don't beat the Titans next time, it's not mathematically over, but yeah, it's over.

Should have beaten the Giants and Commodes as well.

If we don't make the playoffs I wont be too upset. I think for the first time in I don't even know how long i'm pretty confident that next year we can be real contenders. A decent draft, a couple free agents and a mentally stable Calvin Ridley alongside a QB who is trending upwards is a very promising future.

They just showed the playoff picture on MNF. Had us as the 3rd team under "in the hunt". I know it's a long shot, but man does it feel good to see us on that graphic. It's been too long.

So true! I think this next weekend will tell us a lot. If we can somehow upset the cowboys and the chargers beat Tennessee, then it’s on.

However, agree is a real long shot.
