If we make the playoffs by beating the Titans, then we will be the #4 seed no matter what.  And, host a playoff game!  So, a loss to Houston will have no bearing on whom we play.

To be absolutely correct, I was ignoring the very slim chance that we could get a wild card.  There is a chance at a wild card, but extremely remote.  I haven't bothered to figure that one out, because everyone is saying the chance is remote and we would need all sorts of help to get it, with our wild card competitors losing all their remaining games (I think).  But if we win the Titans game, we host a playoff game no matter what.

It's strange to say it but next week's game has the smell of a trap game. Interesting to see if Pederson can keep the team focused. Would be great to roll into the playoffs with a win streak.

I feel the total opposite, I feel like this team is getting white hot at the right time. I feel like we're gonna blow them out.

I hope you're right but after the effort put into the last two games and knowing the tinhorns game is essentially meaningless (I know it's not *completely* meaningless but still) and knowing that the following week is essentially an early playoff game, the team couldn't be blamed for having a little bit of a letdown. And the tinhorns always play us tough anyway.

Fans may care about that but the players don't. Hopefully the Jags blow them out anyway, just don't be shocked if Jags have a letdown.

I'm not sure if this jpeg comes up... But I was hanging out with my family when the CBS post game show came on and showed the graphic that had Jacksonville at the 4th seed in the playoffs. My step dad and I were freaking out! I believe that was the minute we both started drinking in celebration!

Just a feeling. They have somewhat competitive in their games of late. Similar to how I expected the Texans to win at least 1 of their final 3 games. Division games don't always play out as expected.

Because once the week 18 results get considered, a Tenn win over Jax nets them a better division record. They would be tied in overall record and head to head record.

A revenge win and good momentum sounds great.. but anyone that is questionable or nicked up at all just sit them. Week 18 is as must win as it gets, and this week doesn't really matter. No reason to risk injury because we'll have to go on quite a run starting against Tennessee.

Agreed. I think we even beat them with backups. Texans tank factor is in the mix here as well.

Because the first tie breaker is head to head.  If we beat them, the Jaguars would have swept the Titans and would own the tie breaker advantage.

However, if the Titans beat us, we would have split the head to head series.  It would then go to the second tie breaker which is division record.  If the Titans beat us, we would have 3 division losses while the Titans would only 2.  As such, the Titans would win the tie breaker.

True,  but just winning the AFC South feels like a big over achievement for this season.  Amazing turnaround from last year.  I think we'll be the least nervous team in the playoffs if we get in,  could make us dangerous.
