Divisional Game

#61

Based on this team's pattern all season. The uncanny culmination of these issues that come up in these games, and yet, they somehow manage to win?

For example, the turnovers, the blown coverages, the missed sack opportunities, dropped INT's, roughing the passer calls, etc. All of it seems to come up in spurts but I really think this entire team must put together a complete game. A perfect game.

That's really the only way I see us winning here. Offense has to be on schedule. Has to be perfect. Defensively they have to effect the QB. They have to force a turnover. Special teams. They have to flip the field. They cannot miss any PAT's or FG's.

This game is going to take a herculean effort to pull off what could be one of the greatest upsets in recent play-off memory. Would probably be right on par with the Bengals upsetting the Chiefs last year for the Superbowl trip.

Again, just like the previous match up with the Chargers. Throw everything out from the previous match up with Chiefs. What they did to win that game probably won't be installed too heavily nor featured too heavily in this match up.

I could argue that. They might be worried with Lawrence showing the ability to comeback and rally what seems like countless times all season. They might try to run the damn football more than they actually pass it on us and they have to be ready for it. We need a culmination of everything that went right all year for us.

We need the Walker and Allen pass rushing efforts we saw back in week 18 as well as the Agnew and Cooke efforts made on Special Teams. We need the Cisco pick six from Philadelphia. We need the Lawrence performance from the Baltimore home win and tacks road win. It's going to take all of that to win this game.

Interesting blurb from SI on Pedersons coaching record:

“According to the Philly Voice’s Shamus Clancy, he has been an underdog in six of them [playoff games], covered the spread in all six and won five of them outright. The man is 5–1 straight up in the playoffs as an underdog. It’s unreal.”

Pederson knows how to coach as an underdog so we will see

I read one of thier message boards, the Arrowhead something or other. They were pulling for us to beat the Chargers because they despise them, and many of them like our story this season. But very few of them seem worried about losing. The couple i read that were jerks got shouted down by some of the others for not showing respect to the opponent. They like Doug P and hate the Bengals. Overall tho, they seem 90% confident of a victory. Many are already looking ahead to whether they will play the Bills or the Bengals. A few said if they had to lose, let it be to us or the Bills, but not the Bengals. Makes sense based on the Bills situation this year and what happened last yr with the Bengals.

Let them overlook us and be confident of a win. Teams that did so this season walked away with a loss. Disrespect us and we'll punch them in the mouth. We win because we take one game at a time and we never give up. And Pederson has brass balls the size of Lady Liberty's head. Lol.

Man it feels good to be confident.

I'm sure KC wanted to see JAX over the Chargers, whom are a division rival. We've seen them before and maybe they'll come out rusty. They have had some sputtery games down the stretch (Houston, Indy, etc..)

Agreed. Gotta say tho, the Chiefs message board is nothing like the tacks. Pretty much 100% of the fans there are vulgar jerkwads. How that represents the overall KC fan base, I have no idea. Interestingly enough, the Colts message board is favorable to us as well.

And I can understand the point the Chiefs have regarding the Bengals. Not just last years loss, but they despise what they call the arrogance of the Bengals, especially Burrow contrasted with Mahomes. Gotta agree with them on that one.

Per your signature, it looks like Jalen wants back in now that good times are starting to return. If he's being honest. A big IF.

My brother and his lady went tot he KC game earlier this year and said they were blown away at how kind the fans and the staff were to visiting fans wearing colors.

Like - insanely welcoming to the point they were a little confused as to why everyone was so kind.

I have a reddit account...  There were several posters from the KC game that said the exact opposite...  There were many complaints that KC fans were belligerent especially because our Defense played hard.  I don't know what's truth.  But anecdotal evidence is hard to trust.

Probably simply a matter of where they sat.

My brother was gifted this trip and tickets from a business partner who did well from my brother's work, so...

50 yard line club seats

Also - I'm talking about my actual brother - and you started your post with "reddit" so - I know which anecdotal information I am going with.

Right, I'm with you.  Not trying to be contrarian...  But it really did hit me back when we played them.  A whole bunch of KC stories started coming out about how rude they were to us...

But yeah, context does matter.  I wasn't trying to tell you that your Bro was wrong at all.  The world is full of different experiences.  I'm glad he had a good experience, for sure!  I'm no hater.  Just a dude that likes to talk a lot on the internets.

Say, what is the radio station that broadcasts the games? I've been out of Jacksonville for so long I don't remember it anymore. There's a way to listen to it on their website I hope. I can't sit through another game with these half [BLEEP] announcers. I respect the heck out of Al Michaels and Tony Dungy for their careers in the NFL but they killed me during the Saturday game. I wanted to give them both some adderall and mountain dew to wake them up.

If we were to get them again I'm pretty sure I'd have to just mute the game.

I'll be there snowy. It's a 3 hour drive but it's gonna be worth every bit.

Here ya go!  https://1010xl.com/

What I would love to do would be to stream and then link up the play by play from 1010XL...  But I'm just too damn lazy

Thanks, brother. Thankfully these games are on network television so I can watch on my digital antenna (we don't do cable or satellite) and I'm hoping the tv and radio broadcasts are in sync.

They can't broadcast online unless they have decided to break contract.

NFL+ is on discount through June. I paid $25 prior to the playoffs. You can access both local broadcasts and the national broadcast live. You can watch it as well on a phone/tablet.
Birth of the Franchise - November 30, 1993
Death of the Franchise - November 29, 2011

Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.

We sat in the club seats at that game and didnt have any issues, people were very friendly for the most part.  Couple old geezers tried to be sassy but thats about it.
