A Nilla game plan with all bench guys makes him look worse than he is. I'd still rather see Rourke at this point though.

These big receivers are making it tough, they're playing well in their chances.

I've seen plenty of Beathard over the years. Even when he's playing with starters it's clear he doesn't belong in the NFL.

The run blocks look improved from a week ago.

Strange and Bigsby look like very good 2nd and 3rd round draft picks respectively. I was surprised they took Bigsby since Etienne, Hasty and Johnson seemed like a solid trio. However, Bigsby has already demonstrated that he can be a very good complementary back to Etienne and would be starting for several other teams.

I'm sure we'll see Rourke the whole 2nd half. Best way to split it. Give them each a full half and see what they can do with it.

We have a lot of good young players on this team.  Especially at WR.

Nah, he's a mid-tier backup quarterback; nothing more but nothing less either.

I don’t know what you’re looking for him to do exactly. It would be nice if a couple of those red zone trips had resulted in TDs but that can happen. There’s a reason he’s a backup. But he’s on his way to a 300 yard game if he’d play the whole thing.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Special Teams coverage has not been good today. Saved by the penalty there, but the Lions have had a couple solid returns in the kick game so far.

I want one of two things in a backup QB.

Either a young lion that can be turned into a draft pick of a QB desperate team, or a vet that was a decent starter that had his team decide they needed to go in a new direction. The former is guys like Rourke or minshew, the latter is guys like  Hasselbeck.

Beathard is a guy that never had starter ability and who would lose every game if we had to have him start for us, and that's why he's not worth paying as a backup, you can't win with guys like him.

I guess we're not calling the QB getting bashed in the facemask again this year?

Ledbetter making a case for a roster spot today. Especially with the Foley injury, somebody needed to step up.
