I kind of wish they would go to 8 field players + a goalie for the extra time and have it be sudden death.  By opening up the game, I think they could decide a lot more games within the extra time rather then to have the game go to the penalty kick stage.

 

The NHL did that by reducing the squad from 5 to 4 in the OT period.

I think its 3 v 3 in hockey OT.
