So who are we drafting?.... in 2017.

Quote:Since we're going to be drafting late in round 1, I will say Christian McCaffrey.

And for the guy who said he's Toby Gerhart 2.0, here is some video to set you straight. Does this look like Toby Gerhart???

It's the speed and the moves and the way he can cut at full speed. My favorite cut is at the 2:44 mark.

His father, Ed McCaffrey, played pro football for the Broncos.

His maternal grandfather, Dave Sime, won a silver medal in the 100 meter dash in the 1960 Olympics.

I never knew he came from a family of elite athletes. You think the announcers would mention that during a telecast one of these days...

We will certainly have needs somewhere along the oline and SLB. CB/S could be a need. LE is still upgradeable and i dont see that changing but it isnt dire.

Has nothing to do with being white. It's play style. I believe he will be successful but he isn't a 3 down back.

He's a luxury pick/player.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I dont want to come off as racist or anything but I mean as of late the RB position isnt a position that white players flourish at

you look at color instead.of the player and what he can do, lol figures. If his skin color was black it would it would be a differ tone. Watch his fame and skills, not the color of his skin

I don't know enough about the prospects to comment on specific players, but below are the positions (in order) that I think we would prefer in the first round:

1.  Offensive Tackle - I think Joeckel is gone next year.  Beachum is ok, but I think the team tries to draft its left tackle of the future and move Beachum to backup.  I would note too that quality left tackles usually aren't made available in free agency, so that leaves the draft for this position.

2.  Offensive Guard/Center - I put it behind offensive tackle because interior linemen are much easier to find.  They often drop into the second or third round or even later in the draft.  They can also be found cheaper in free agency.  That being said, it is one of the few huge needs for the team.

3.  Strong Safety - Pretty much ditto above.  I think the team will want to upgrade Cyprien, but safeties aren't as highly valued in the NFL as other positions and sometimes slide down draft boards.  They can also be found easier in free agency.

4.  Middle Linebacker - Posluszny is getting old.  We need to find his replacement for the future.

5.  Otto - The Jaguars are getting a very talented roster.  While Skuta is ok, it's a position that the Jaguars might be looking to upgrade.  I would note that the otto only plays about 40% of the time, so this position isn't as important as some others.

My best guess is that they get an interior offensive lineman and strong safety in free agency and then go offensive tackle, middle linebacker and otto in the first three rounds of the draft.  We have existing players at tackle and linebacker that can play early in the season if the rookies need some time to develop.  We need starters right away on the line and strong safety (assuming Cyprien is gone) so free agency works better.

That's my plan!

I don't know is mcCaffrey is all that fast as he is quick. I think he is great because of his quickness not so much as speed. Which is fine, probably preferable actually. He's a good runner. I don't see us get involved have m though. That would give us 3 30mill running backs. Now if Jalen Hurd is a guy I want to watch.

he looks fast to me. When dude hits a hole he takes it to the house. To me he is a bit like LT, better receiver though and elite returner

I was by no means calling him slow but I don't know if he is 4.4 speed. He's prob right at 4.5, which is plenty fast enough.

He's so great bc of his versatility, whether running, receiving, or returning. He's got all 3 Rs.
