Top 5 needs after FA and the draft

Quote:That part will be interesting to watch. I think whenever Beachum is cleared to play and feels ready for anything, Joeckel will head to the bench.

I doubt the latter if the Jaguars are winning consistently and Luke Joeckel is playing at a winning level.

Which is not likely to happen.

The odds are against Luke Joeckel making a major jump forward.   But it's possible that the added competition at LT and the fact that his 5th year option wasn't picked up will end up jump starting Joeckel's NFL career.

Actually Joeckel played pretty good last season. He gave up less than 4-5 sacks until Watt gigged him for 5 sacks. That game left a bad taste in Bradley's and Caldwell's mouth...

It's understandable that Gus Bradley and Dave Caldwell have concerns about Luke Joeckel after his struggles against the Texans.   With J.J. Watt on the Jaguars schedule until further notice and the Texans having other good pass rushers,  it's definitely a high priority for the Jaguars to get better pass blocking against the team that won the AFC South last season.

Quote:If we re-sign him it would be for backup level money. There is a reason we signed Kelvin Beacham in free agency.

Of course there's a reason. They signed him to see if he's any better than Joekel. If it turns out he's not, than he'll be kicked to the curb with Joekel maybe striking a second contract.

Actually that was Whitney Mercilus. J.J. Watt was on the other side killing Sam Young.

If you're gonna count head coach then I'd also add the voice of the Jags. Frank Frangie just awful

Imagine our team with another off-season like we just had.  We'll still have the cap space to sign the caliber of free agents that we signed this past year........and, no, I'm not saying we should expect a draft like we just had, but if it's just another quality "Dave Draft", plus the free agents.......I mean, wow.
