|
Quote:Speaking of which:For me "A Farewell to Kings" is the one that always ends up in rotation, but they have SO MANY great albums.

The Beatles - The Beatles 1968
Led Zeppelin- Led Zeppelin IV 1971 The Rolling Stones- Rolled Gold: The Very Best of the Rolling Stones 1975 Journey - Infinity 1978 Maddona - 1983
Beck - Sea Change: I really enjoy this album from start to finish. It's very soft spoken and light hearted. And it has a bittersweet melancholy vibe to it throughout the whole album. Despite the sad lyrics in some of the songs like "Guess I'm Doing Fine" and "Lost Cause" it's such a great sound man. Beck is an underrated musician. When I was a kid in the early 90s. And I do mean a kid. Barely five I think. He was known for his funky sounds and approach and really his most popular song "Loser". This album was vastly different in 2002. This is the kind of album I can listen to while walking on the beach or reading a book and not get bored. "Round The Bend" is the best song on the album though for me personally.
Coheed And Cambria - No World For Tomorrow: When I first found these guys out in 2007 I was finishing up my last year of high school. They were modern yet they stood out compared to the rest of the modern bands at the time. I really like the fact that the lyrics are more story like and not self repeating and overdone in chorus over and over like most music is now. Claudio Sanchez has a unique voice. He reminds me of Geddy Lee from RUSH range and tone wise. "Mother Superior" is a great song from this album. And heartbreaking when you look over the lyrics. Radiohead - OK Computer: This album hits home. I was only nine years old when this came out. My mom and dad were going through a really rough patch. And there were times where my mom would play "Let Down" around the house while my dad was away. And then when my dad was driving us around he'd play "Karna Police" and "No Surprises" almost religiously. Didn't really understand the lyrics then but the music was good. As I got older and looked back at the lyrics I could see why my parents were into it. With that said. Even though this is one of my favorite overall albums from Radiohead. The best song for me from them is "How To Disappear Completely" and it perfectly goes right into an amazing instrumental in "Treefingers" on the Kid A album. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king."
