Myles Jack is the obvious pick

6 months later and he still isn't 100% is significant. Don't kid yourself.

Not significant enough to use it as a reason not to draft him. He won't miss any football and it won't effect his mobility.

I'm passing at number 5.

I have a feeling that this guy will go a lot lower than where he is currently being projected.
Uhhhh he excels at coverage. He's the best coverage LBer to come out since Keuchly. You should try watching Jack sometime.

I think Jack is a once in a generation prospect, his smarts, instincts, and dominant physical/athletic traits scream out a potential future HOFamer.

Doesn't excel at one thing? He excels at everything, the guy was the Pac 10 freshman of the year on both defense and offense. He often covered and blanketed much smaller slot receivers, he blankets TE's and RB's out of the backfield, and has natural instincts in the run game. He's a game changer, his freakish ability allows D-coordinators to get creative, this guy is a flat out stud and it wouldn't surprise me if he's ends up as an all time great at the linebacker position, he's that gifted.

Just watched some film on Jack and I must say I am blown away by his coverage skills. I'd be very happy with him at 5... Hopefully he'll be there

Definitely want Jack. BUT considering how much money we were gonna give Vernon to come here, if Bosa is there i believe he's the pick.

Maybe better. He pretty much shut down Nelson Agholor, a first round WIDE RECEIVER, two years ago.

It'll be hilarious when the Jags pass up on Myles Jack at 5.

I won't be mad if he's the pick but I don't think he's worth a top 5 selection, elite coverage skills or not.

It's a tough call between Bosa and Jack if they are both on the board.

Bosa fills the biggest need, another edge pass rusher, and one that excels on the opposite side of Fowler in passing downs.  The Jags were atrocious in 3rd down defense.  With the enormous price for edge rushers now, it would be advantageous to put another on the roster at the rookie pay scale.  However, the downside is I think Bosa will be a good solid pro, but not a great one.

Jack has Luke Kuechly type upside talent, that any defensive coordinator would highly covet.  He has speed, aggressiveness, and coverage ability, and is versatile enough to play any position behind the front for lineman.  The knee injury is a negative, but will likely have short term impact, if any.

I would be happy with either.

I still think Bosa is #1 in our board, especially with us losing out on a pass rusher. I still wouldn't rule out Ramsey if he's there, but the signing of Gipson certainly tips the scales a little more towards Jack now. Jack is intriguing for what he can do, but his tackle numbers is somewhat concerning. You have to really sort it out if those numbers are like that because he backed off so much into coverage or if that's just his nature.

I'm starting to get that feeling too. Him and Ramsey are just so versatile.
