Sign Alex Mack, Trade for Joe Thomas?

That's interesting, because I would think editing someone's post so you can make an insult about them not adding anything to the board (ironically), would take more effort.

Hey, I've read your stuff for years. There's nothing new going on here. You and pirkster are both broken records at this point.

Quote:I think we should try again to sign Alex Mack. How could anyone not want a Pro Bowler at that position? We have had terrible centers the last two years because the Browns could afford to match our offer sheet.

Trading our second round pick for anybody would be a huge mistake. I have opposed that idea since the 2010 draft, when we did not have a second round pick and were unable to find a trade partner to get one by trading down in the first round. Imagine how much better our defense would have been if we had drafted Sean Lee (the guy Gene Smith wanted to pick in round 2) and did not have Derek Cox. It is obvious to me our second round pick should not be traded away for any player when we have so many holes on defense - one of them being a linebacker because we missed out on Lee.

A second round pick for one of the most talented O-linemen to ever suit up? I think I'd have to go for it. Even if we got 4 years out of him, that's well worth the price to keep Blake's jersey clean.

I can't see any way Hue Jackson comes in and decides he wants to get rid of Joe Thomas. If Thomas isn't a Brown next year, it's because he no longer wants to be in Cleveland.

Only a chump boos the home team!

If we could get just two years of improved line play out of both of them, I think I'd do it. Somehow they're gonna have to drastically improve or Blake's going to get hurt.

You could have saved yourself a lot of time and just said yes. You're not real good at math either, slappy. You've been around for a whole year. Even you can manage that kind of counting with just one hand......

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Yea. I like Alex Mack and Joe Thomas in teal if it could be done without any significant cost. I definitely wouldn't pay Mack more than 10 mil per, and I'd hope for 8.5. I still say a 2nd round pick would be worth 3 years of probowl LT play. Not that you can guarantee you'll get it of course.
