Jaylon Smith injured

#61

Keep in mind Smith is an underclassmen and could decide to return to school if he thinks his stock will take a significant hit.

LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

come back and start the season on the sidelines (if his injury is major), not get paid, come back, play a few games and/or risk re-injury

vs.

get drafted in the 2nd or 3rd, start the season on PUP, GET PAID

Even before he got injured I certainly never saw it. He had a fantastic game against Oregon when Arizona beat them last year and not much else. Let's just take this to Scooby's thread instead of derailing this one.

You're not even in the Scooby thread.

What you see is arbitrary considering your track record, with all due respect.

Agreed, plus Jaylon has a $5 million insurance policy if he drops out of the first round due to injury.

That would be ideal. And he's got an insurance policy so I don't feel guilty hoping he falls. Everybody wins!

Quote:3rd round? Maybe the best LB in college when healthy. What makes you think 3rd round?

I wouldn't have the first idea how to project a prospect. There was an article suggesting Scooby will go in the third round.

Even with the injury Smith is not dropping out of the first round. Too talented.

btw, why is there radio silence on this? Usually the injury would have been disclosed by now.

Returning would be idiotic on his part.

He must declare in order to collect on his insurance policy.

A trifecta ligament tear in the knee is never a good thing. His rookie season will be spent on IR and he may lose alot of his explosiveness when its all said and done. Tough break for the kid.

Quote:Pretty nasty photos circulating of his knee injury, definitely looked bad. Curious to see what the diagnosis is.

he's going to declare to get his insurance. That's the only smart thing to do.

I expect him to drop to bottom of the first or later. Linebacker doesn't have a lot of studs in this draft.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Would still like to draft the guy as long as there is no damage to the cartilage

With an injury that bad there's pretty much no hope that there wasn't. He'll need microfracture in a few years.

I've had the surgery on my left knee. No ligament damage but torn cartilage

Micro fracture surgery is truly the worst nightmare for any athlete as it affects the ability to bend the knee

He tore both his ACL and MCL, bummer.
