Team's best athlete: Marqise Lee

Quote:I read this thread and I understand the back and forth between the Marquis Lee supporters and the detractors of Lee. Lee is considered a great athlete because of what he did in college after the catch with the ball in his hands. He was great at outrunning coverage. But in terms of raw speed, he only ran like a 4.5 at the combine (Marshall, Telvin Smith, Rashad Greene and Yeldon ran like a 4.53 followed by the Allen brothers, McCray and Sample around 4.56). That was said to be a shockingly slow time for him, and I get that, but there's no way he's the fastest. There are several Jaguars faster than that. If you're talking about the fastest Jaguars you first have to look at DRob and Grant, and then you're looking at the Jaguars CBs. House, for instance, ran something like a 4.43 at the combine and a 4.37 at his Pro Day (WR Arrelious Benn did the same). Gratz ran a 4.47. Colvin is one of the fastest. He didn't run at the combine because he was hurt, but rumor was he could have run a 4.32 if healthy. DRob and Grant are the only others I know of to be that fast. I highly doubt Lee could run anywhere near a 4.3 on his best day. DRob ran the 40 in 4.32, and Grant ran the 40 at his Pro Day around 4.27.

To be clear - I can only guess who the most "athletic" player on the roster is, and I never said it was Lee. His teammates did. Which is what I thought the thread was about.
This thread took a weird direction.
And someone let Carl Lewis know that runners aren't athletes.
He really exploded when he caught the ball across the field. He has speed and you can tell he is stronger than he looks. When you put him on the field with all the other talent we have it is nothing but mismatches everywhere. The offense we saw just this past weekend is an offense that showed progression finally and we hope to see until the end. Finally the team played as a whole. Young talent that is playing with confidents. I would love to see us win the division and make the playoffs with this momentum but lets just continue against ATL.

I'd say it is Jason Myers. How he stays on the team after missing a handful of extra points is pretty amazing.
Taking it to the top of the Modis building.
Quote:Uhm...he corralled that ball with his two hands and his chest? You obviously don't know what a body catch is. |
