This is the NFL.  They are all multi-billionaires.  IF they are leaning on the refs to rig games, their only likely motivation is to do it to get better TV ratings in big markets or better merch sales to bigger fanbases.  I really hope they are not that corrupt.  But if they were, Khan's personal wealth and investment matters zero.  All that matters is the size of Jacksonville and the number of Jaguars fans, and neither of those measurements will ever come out in the Jaguars' favor.

Quote:If you want to play the 'rigged' theory, that the NFL influences the refs to create optimal situations for a desired result, the you would have to think Khan and his money could have at least a little influence. Also, one would suppose the league as a whole would bolster it's up and comers, like the Jags, to generate more revenue both at home and abroad. I think there are certain situations, like the 1st game back in the Superdome after Katrina, where the NFL really needed the Saints to win, or even the Patriots getting to and winning the Superbowl after 9/11, where there may have been some influence exerted. I just can't believe that the league 'Hates the Jags' as much as the refs were less competent in this game than they should have been.

My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

Another officiating issue I have seen overlooked, ARob's catch. He had his hand under the ball. Had the Jags been allowed to run up to the line and snap the ball like every other team in the league the Jets would have thrown a challenge flag and lost a challenge. Instead, the refs sat around talking about the clock until everyone had seen enough replays, to know it would not have been overturned.

Also, the kickoff after our first field goal. Flag was picked up.

Nothing fell their way yesterday.

I'm back been two years.

Didn't they score a TD instead of a FG because they went for it on 4th down?

The dude kneeing BB5 out of bounds acting like he was trying to step over him (he should have broken off when he saw where BB5 was going) would have drawn personal foul on anyone else. Not to mention at least two late hits on BB5 that put him down hard. Roughing the passer calls? Nope.

Even Trent said Bortles was slow to get up and took a good lick late.

Do I blame the loss on the refs, no I don't ....its football and nocalls/bad calls happen.

We could have/should have won that game anyway.

But this crew was terrible and I do hope our management not filing a complaint on these knuckleheads. (polite term)

From a revenue perspective, the Jaguars are possibly the least saturated market in the NFL and are being groomed to sell to the international crowd. Whereas the Jets have been around forever and have maybe the least potential to grab new fans.

Yes, all the owners are rich, but there's definitely a hierarchy. Shad Khan is currently the 6th richest owner in the league and could literally buy the poorest 5 owners outright.

I don't believe the game is rigged. I'm just saying if it was, it would be to maximize potential earnings and not because a certain team is 'hated'.
