What's the deal with Watt this year? I know he's getting doubled a lot, but he was last year too, and this year he's not even doing his stuff against single teams. I believe I saw AJ Cann handling him just fine one-on-one.

Flip the scenario.

If you were Houston, and your backup QB just had another oopsie moment where he overslept and your starting QB's last name rhymes with "Hoyer", would you make that trade?

I think both teams say no. Funny thing is Houston could have both Watt and Bortles or Watt and Carr, but they took Clowney and Sua Filo, both have done nothing. Sucks to suck I guess.

They must have a GM Gene type

Birth of the Franchise - November 30, 1993
Death of the Franchise - November 29, 2011

Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.

Not a chance. It's very, very difficult to find a good QB worth keeping.

Some teams have been looking for years, and still looking. You find one,, you keep him.

While it would be nice to have a player like Watts - just for the attention he would bring to the team - I would not make that trade. I think Blake will end up being a very good QB for many years.

I would imagine that most Texans fans would say no they would not trade Watt. But it is probably more emotional than anything.

Fans are one thing, GMs another. You think Rick Smith wouldn't make that trade official before Dave had a chance to sober up?!

They would in a hearbeat and not think twice about it.

No, last year maybe. But he has shown major improvement and I believe it will only get better. JJ Watt doesn't win games, the QB does. Of course you must have a good defense but one player doesn't define the defense. But a QB can define the offense, it goes through Bortles.

Quote:Hypothetical.  This would probably be a no-brainer for the fans across the US, however, we have been so QB deprived I'd like to know your thoughts.

Would you pull the trigger by trading Bortles for JJ Watt -- even up ?

Personally, I like our open offense and the future that comes with Bortles and the playmakers (OMG did I say that) we have in Bortles, ARob, Hurns, TJ, & J Thomas so I'm not making that trade.
no way Jose....
