Telvin Smith can't cover

#61

A 40 year old QB just picked on Poz and smith all day. Skuta is the only backer playing consistently.

He's being manipulated by smart QBs who simply look him off.

It's an epidemic in the NFL. Very, very, few LB's ever take their eyes off the QB to see which, if any, guys are running into and out of their zone. So plays like the TD to Fleener happen because the LB is fixated on the QB and has no idea what the WR/TE is doing behind him.

If you guys remember the play from this Sunday when Armbrister had a pass break up (10:05 of 4th quarter). Moncrief is dragging across the field behind him, as he drops he turns his head and locates Moncreif and is able to get the right amount of depth to get in the way of the pass. It's such a small and thing and you would think that all LB's do it but they don't.

This week watch LB's around the league and I think you'll be surprised at how many LB's blindly drop to their zones and never locate guys entering/exiting their zone. It's bad and frustrating when it's your teams LB's.

Then something needs to change, bc Smith is getting abused in coverage.

I agree. Better pressure from the front four would also help tremendously but I honestly don't see that changing anytime soon.
