I guess I'll have to say it again, but Lee was never going to be a top 10 pick. He was simply the WR version of Matt Barkley (who would have gone #1 overall if he left the draft early too...yeah right). Silly media jumps on big school and crazy stats before doing any evaluation. 

 

Lee isn't big, isn't fast, has bad and very uncoordinated hands, and had an injury history. His one plus trait is good short area quickness, and that plus college production shouldn't have been nearly enough to take him early 2nd combined with everything else being negative. It was laughable that he went ahead of Jordan Matthews, Davante Adams, Allen Robinson, Cody Latimer, and Jarvis Landry (not to mention plenty of other 3rd round and later WRs)...and that's before looking at hindsight. It looks even worse since, obviously. Imagine if we had Arob paired with one of them...man. 

 

Yeah Cody Latimore is really ripping the NFL a new one. 

 

Career: 2 rec for a very impressive 24 yrds. 

 

I mean did we see his state line yesterday?  0 catches 0 yrds. 

 

Arob isn't exactly the most sure handed receiver in the game by any means.

I don't think anyone is comparing the player but more so focusing on the fact that the guy was drafted with the knowledge of him having injuries. The guy was a top ten pick prior to the injuries. Caldwell very well may have taken him thinking to cash in on a year or two of building his body and working through rehabs.


We are using Jimmy to make the point that sometimes you have to be patient with some guys because they may actually get it together and become a good player. This team is not that great to move on from a guy that is having some injuries early in his career. Bringing him along slowly may pay huge dividends for us in the future. Hell maybe even this year.


Could he be a bust, sure but I like to give a guy their full three years before I determine what path they will go.

 

Except Jimmy is such a terrible comparison because his injuries were a) different injuries b) not the recurring type

 

What others have made in comparison with CS3 and MSW, were more accurate because not only did those players seem to always be hurt with soft-tissue injuries...they also were same soft-tissue injury (hamstring) that Lee is dealing with.

 

Fred too is a terrible example for the same reason. Not to mention, his "fragile" tag came after he already established he's a dynamic player AND an injury that required plenty of time off and only came to the forefront because TC tried manipulating the injury reports by making it look like Fred had a chance to play when he absolutely had no chance.

When they are talking about moving an average Center in his 2nd year going to LT after the team let up for sacks in the 2nd half (2 by Young), this team is going to struggle if that isnt addressed (via trade).


If the OLine cant protect Bortles, or Henne depending on how this game goes.... then Lee playing will be a mute issuse unless he can block at LT.

He's trending toward playing Sunday against the Dolphins. Lee is coming off a hit-or-miss rookie season and will likely be rusty after missing most of the team's offseason program with various bumps and bruises. Jaguars wideouts are always tough to rely on because of Blake Bortles' inconsistency. - Rotoworld

It really makes you feel good to continue to diss blake because it you or anyone else like it or not he's our qb so get over it or go root for another team.
