Jaguars to St. Louis or San Diego (merged)

Quote:I think the Jags to San Diego is much more credible.  After all, Miami is moving to Orlando and a few Cuban people from San Diego were talking to a few of their Cuban friends in Orlando .......
I think Shad Khan should commit to playing one game a year in Cuba in order to hijack the Cuban ratings from Miami.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Now its all about getting attention, clicks, and followers. This one is only because Kahn had originally tried to buy St Louis team before Wayne approached him about Jaguars. Kahn is not going to sell the team unless local fans do not buy tickets after team starts winning regularly. Even then I think he would give it at least 10 years past the time when Jags start winning. Even Johnny O has alluded to this a few times when people asked questions about moving rumors. Ticket sales and pricing will go up when we start winning. IMO Jags are not going anywhere because when we start winning regularly ticket sales will go up just like before when Jags were winning. IMO for the same reason the London game is not going away because it brings in 15% revenue and each of the other games only bring in 9.4%. If Everbank revenue per game goes up then London game will go away. The NFL is a business and Khan is a very good "bidness man"

If Khan has his way, the London game will never go away.  They're talking about an extension of that deal that goes 10 years or more.

Quote:If these cities wouldn't build new stadiums to keep their current teams, why would it be any different for a new team?  San Diego's old [BAD WORD REMOVED] stadium will still be an old [BAD WORD REMOVED] stadium when Khan moves there.
San Diego was a joke.....

me thinks....

However.... I think the Rams leaving to go to LA is an NFL move. Khan wanted to buy the Rams and not move them.... so he ended up NOT buying the Rams.

He buys the Jags and doesn't want to move them either, but as it is a tougher market they figure out this long-term London deal which is great for the league and good for the Jaguars.

Oakland and San Diego too could move to LA, giving the NFL two teams in the largest market on the west coast.

Possibly leaving one team unhappy in its stadium situation.

Wouldn't THAT team be the team to relocate? And wouldn't they want to relocate to a new stadium, since this is all about stadium quality and money right?

And with proposed deals on the board for solo LA rams, joint chargers/raiders la, relocated la idea, solo rams st louis idea, even a san diego proposal to keep the bolts at home....

It seems all cities will have new facilities, it's just a question of how the 3 will be split.

Jason Cole has written this same article for years. Instead of LA, now he is putting in St Louis.

For whatever reason, he really does not like Jacksonville or it's fans.

In the past he has referred to us as morons and having low IQ's. Probably because he writes baseless articles like this and gets a lot of flak on Twitter.

I mean a tougher market to sell to. As in small market, yadda yadda...

NY and LA, Houston... those areas sell big, even when they suck and lose...sell jerseys, sell tickets, make money...

But the LA market is soon to be spoken for with possibly as many as three teams (2 being more likely).

You can make the argument it is NOT a tougher market than St. Louis.

Quote:And with Jason Cole now reporting the NFL wants to move the Jags to St. Louis after the Rams leave for LA I am starting to wonder something...why not just move us to LA? Instead of two teams moving would it not be much easier just to have the Jaguars move to LA? It doesn't make sense to move one team to another city and almost immediately have our team fill that hole when we could have been the team that moved in the first place.

Were not moving so none of it makes sense.

Apparently the Jaguars move to every city that loses an NFL franchise.  The only problem is if the Jaguars left Jacksonville, they would also have to move to Jacksonville.  This would create an infinite loop and the time continuum would be breached.

I was only referencing why the NFL and Shad had partnered up for this (foreseeable) long term London deal. I think it was their plan all along to help some struggling franchise.

It was to help this franchise while rebuilding the fanbase in a tough market. (small market, 3 florida teams, not very good right now)

It seems it could be locked down as long as 10 years. (I'd say that locks the Jags in Jville  more than new video boards)

Can't run out to London with the Jville Jags for 5 years in a row and suddenly come out with st louis jags (or st louis something else)... London fans wouldn't get it... lose touch of your international crowd is a good way for failure...

If Shad had bought St Louis, they would be doing this deal, and we'd really be in question (probably) to be moving to LA.

(edit: then again maybe they wouldn't be doing this deal, they'd have a new stadium, oakland and sd go to LA and we end up in London permanently)

I agree completely.

There have been some completely baseless rumors about the Jaguars relocating for quite some time.

However, now that stadium situations in Los Angeles seem to be resolving itself, the teams that are real candidates for relocation are the ones, not coincidentally, with the worst stadium situations.

This begs the question, then, why does the media persist in perpetuating these rumors about Jacksonville?

At what point does the phrase "journalistic integrity" not become a punchline...a pathetic oxymoron?

Using their logic, because Jacksonville is actively looking for ANYWHERE to play besides Jacksonville.  The Jags have a horrible stadium, no revenue, a lousy TV market, and an odd mascot.
