we are already leading the league in ijurys,and its only preseason. we probbley have the most injurys  out of all 32  teams espailley to key players. I was hopeing both teams came out of game last night without major injurys. Lions did,but jags didn't. we lost 3 key players from last nights game. allan robbersoon,branch,clay harbor. we seem to be loseing players left,and right again.

 

Seriously Snowy, the Jags are one of the least injured teams at this point. Robinson and Harbor will most likely be back for the start of the regular season, as will Gerhart, McCray and Thomas. Branch will take longer, but he wasn't playing very well anyway, and more than one pundit has suggested that he should be cut. The only serious injury to a key player thus far was to Dante Fowler.

Actually, watching the Panthers play today gives me a little more hope. Their TE is their only true passing threat, and the only other guy on their roster who can catch a football is Ginn, Jr. They have a scary defense which is why I've been somewhat pessimistic about the Jaguars winning, and a stout running game, but the Jaguars have them beat by a few miles in terms of passing weapons.

I watched the Panthers' game against the Dolphins, and the starters seemed to struggle a lot.   I know it's preseason, so you can't really read too much into it, but they should have been down 21-0 in the first quarter.   It was 14-0 Miami when the Dolphins' running back scored an apparent TD to put the Phins up 21-0, but replay showed he fumbled it through the end zone for a touchback.   I didn't watch much more of that game, and was amazed when the Panthers pulled it out.   I assume the backups won that game.  Cam Newton as 4-10 for 42 yards.  It also looked like the Panthers have a major hole at WR. 

 

The game is in Jacksonville, and the Jaguars do get some front line players back for the first game, notably TE Julius Thomas and WR Marqise Lee.  

 

To say the game is "winnable" is not that much of a stretch.

As it is I can tell you what my perception of the panthers is: good defense that won't be as strong without Greg Hardy and a decent athletic QB that can't win games like the elite QBs do and your best WR is out for the season.

 

I know it's just part of being a fan, but I feel pretty good about the Jaguars chances of punching the panthers in the mouth and having them fold up in week one.
