I'd be real happy if Gipson would sign with the Jags. Adding him to safety along with Cyprien, Sample and Brown would give the Jags tremendous depth at this position. With Fowler at Leo and a healthy Marks next year, the defense should take a big step forward. I don't expect Hargreaves to be available when the Jags pick in the 1st round, but there still will be players at positions of need. At this time, my pick would be the best available left tackle. Joeckel will be no better than a middle of the road left tackle. They can either trade him (lucky to get a 3rd rounder) or keep him until his contract runs out and give them more depth on the line.

We need a true game breaking WR...passing on Cooper looks like a mistake more and more each week...considering we will be picking between 3 - 5 again this year...maybe a new QB...considering we will probably have a new coaching staff.
We keep playing this way and Jalen Ramsey will be in teal and black next year.

Quote:someone with game breaking speed on offense Amari Cooper and Robinson would've been a sick combo with Hurns in the slot.

Quote:Amari Cooper and Robinson would've been a sick combo with Hurns in the slot. I could see caldwell taking Jay Rome, TE out of Georgia. Super sick combo with Thomas, Lewis, Harbor, Rome. Could you imagine a 4 TE set? That would be unstoppable.

While that sounds great, I'm one that prefers a 4 RB set. Imagine Fournette, Yeldon, DRob, and Gerhert on the field at the same time .... Quote:We keep playing this way and Jalen Ramsey will be in teal and black next year.Might as well get Hargreaves if we're going to address the secondary. Jaylon Smith might be necessary due to how weak we are at the LB position. We could also trade up and get Ramsey, but that would take a miracle to land two of the three. Get Eric Berry or Gipson in the off-season and our secondary would be stacked. Also I don't know if that's smart to use the first two picks on just the secondary. We might need WR's, LT, or another pass-rusher from how things are looking so far. Fowler, Colvin, Hargreaves/Jaylon, Ramsey/Jaylon, and Gipson/Berry would be awesome to see. Not sure if he's the same pro-bowl player that he use to be, but that'd be awesome if we could land him in FA. Quote:We aren't getting him because we will be picking too high and have more pressing needs than corner.BAP is how we need to start drafting - so tired of this needs drafting crap. We end up doing it year after year and the player ends up busting, or it was barely even an upgrade. And that's how so many super-star players go right past us in the draft. I love Fowler and I think he'll be an awesome player for us, but Cooper was considered the BAP during those early rounds and is now tearing it up in Oakland. We can't keep passing on players like that.
Too early to name names, but I think the Jaguars will be looking at receivers, offensive tackles and pass rushers at the top of round one.

In this weeks Mock Draft I have the Jags drafting 8th in each round.
Free Agency: 1. Nigel Bradham - LB - Bills - 5 Yrs - 30 Mil (6 Mil Average) Bradham can play all three LB positions. He will push to start at the MLB position supplanting Poz on 2nd and 3rd downs. He can also play the WLB position opening a move of Telvin Smith to SS/LB in an Arizona Cardinals - 5 DB defense 2. Cordy Glenn - OLT - Bills - 5 Yrs - 36 MIl - (7.2 MIl Average) The Bills are in salary cap hell and they can not afford to pay these two players. Glenn will take over the OLT spot and provide a upgrade to Joeckel who will move to OLG and together they will strengthen the running game on the left side of the line as Linder and Parnell have on the right side. Signing Cordy Glenn allows the Jags to trade Zane Beadles to the Dolphins for a Rd 5 pick (150) Draft: Rd 1 (8) TRADED to JETS for Muhamed Wilkerson - DE Jags sign Wilkerson to 5 Year - 100 Million Contract - $20 Mil/Yr Average Wilkerson will man the same spot as Jared Odrick allowing him to move inside and take Roy Miller's spot at NG. Rd 2(40): Jordan Jenkins - OLB - Otto - Georgia Jenkins will allow Skuta to play more Leo Rd 3(72): Hunter Henry - TE - Arkansas Henry replaces Marcedes Lewis as the 2nd TE in 2 TE sets Rd 4(110): Karl Joseph - SS - West Virginia Depth at the SS position Rd 5(146): Antonio Morrison - LB - Florida Backup WLB Rd 5(150): Doug Middleton - FS - Appalachian State Backup FS Rd 6(182) Jonathan Williams - RB - Arkansas Backup RB Rd 6(190): Curt Maggitt - DE Leo - Tennessee Backup Leo Jags significantly upgrade their Defense with the additions of Wilkerson, Bradham and Jenkins as well as adding depth to the roster to allow the team to push through the normal injury cycle that seems to hit the Jags annually.
No corner(s) or backup QB Stig??
How would the following UFAs fit in if at all... - Whitehurst (replaces Henne as backup) - Nelson (replaces Brown w/Brown adding depth) - Blount (replaces Gerhart) Any chance a "true" FB is added to the roster via late round pick??
Season Record: 8-8
Free Agency: LT Russel Okung 5 years 40 million (8 mill avg) 18 million guaranteed TE Coby Fleener 5 years 27.5 million ( 5.5 million avg) 13 million guaranteed FS Tashaun Gipson 5 years 41 million (8.2 mill avg) 22 million guaranteed Re-sign Anger, Abry Jones, and Ryan Davis Draft 1(14) - Jaylon Smith ILB - Poz is aging and is slow we need young athletic MLB 2(45) - Kenny Clark DT- We need to upgrade at NT, this guy is a run stuffer 3(77) - Zach Sanchez CB- nice size great instincts |
