I'm not going to imply anything.  I'll be as specific as I possibly can.  Those that practice the religion of Islam are not "out to get us" by any means.  It's those that practice radical Islamist Extremism that are out to get us.  They are Islamic Terrorists plain and simple, no sugar coating it.  Are you going to deny that?

He's not a Christian extremist. His killings were never motivated by religion, race, class, anything like that. IMO, he shot up that movie theater because he has a sick, twisted mind, and it was a game to him. The conversion to Islam feels to me like the weight of what he had done suddenly hit him while he was incarcerated, and he converted in a desperate attempt to make sense of it and, as the article said, justify it to himself. The theater shootings had as much to do with Islam as they did with the Easter Bunny, despite what others in this thread have tried to feed us.

 

That wasn't his point. His point was that the shooting were not because he was Christian, and in fact he wasn't even a Christian. Unlike what has happened numerous times with Islamic terrorists, there have been no Christians murdering people and then shouting "Jesus Saves."

LOL, I get your point.  However, I do think that I pointed out that yes, I was "profiling" or "stereotyping"  in my assessment as far as what was going on.  I do agree with you somewhat, but as a "military person" that served during the time that I did as well as working for the military since then, assembling a "point of view" based on a person's name is pretty much a "natural" thing for me.  Is it wrong?  Perhaps, but that's what my experience has taught me over the years.

 

I'll admit that I "jumped the gun" when I identified this as having something to do with radical Islam, but that's just instinct.  Fortunately for me, I was correct in my assessment.

 

Is it a "dangerous" way to view the world?  Perhaps to some, but not to me.

 

Is it a "pathetic" way to view the world?  Yes and no.  My "military tactical mind" puts 2+2 together and comes up with a solution.  My "personal mind" doesn't judge people (to the best of my ability) based on race, religion, color, etc.

I totally understand what you mean. It drives my husband nuts. Lol. He and I led very different lives before we got married so my thought processes totally wig him out sometimes. And that's not even throwing in the female aspect.
