I was 50/50 on it. If I had the option though? I would have fired Trent and kept Doug.

Well Doug and staff are officially out. Baalke is next Dave Caldwell... I feel like we should just kill any optimism that we'll experience any good seasons for the next several years. What is our selling point to a potential coaching hire? We have a GM that will trade our top pick away, but we have Brian Thomas and a decent QB if he stays healthy, but has to be remotivated?

Shad 'half measure' Khan

HC's are given a short rope, Baalke can screw up year after year and still somehow survive.

Shad, you [BLEEP] up here and deserve the absolute hate your going to receive

Welp...This is so disappointing.
Shad's collaboration with baalke will continue to produce pain for the fans.

I can't believe the board is still up in spite of this news!

So Baalke won the fight. Shad believes the roster is good and Doug was the reason for the bad performances.

I'd love to get Ben Johnson and see Baalke try to pull the same [BLEEP] again.

Now the Ben Johnson dream is over. Hello Matt Eberflus.

Hello Matt Eberflus.

Not necessarily.  Knowing the Jags idiocracy, we hire Ben Johnson, former Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist Sprinter.

Would rather have Steve Aioki as our coach. With him we'll at least get cake in our face to go along with the clown show that Baalke puts on around town.

I think there is a general assumption in society that billionaires are smart.

There is a difference between smart or intelligence and common sense.

I read several times in the past month or so that Baalke intended to retire. So maybe there's a chance Shad Khan is letting Baalke retire.

Just spit balling to keep our spirits up.

That right there is the kind of thinking that will make you a GM in this league. I'd expect a phone call with a job offer from Baalke thus afternoon

Billionaires are good at making money.  Whether they are smarter than the rest of us in other areas, I doubt it.

Baalke must retire

Here’s the issue-

Most Jags fans-“ this is a talented roster, #1 landing spot for a HC”
Media- “this is a loaded roster, #1 landing spot for a HC”
Baalke- “check out BTJ and Cam Little, I’m a god “

If everyone is saying it’s a loaded roster, #1 HC landing spot- does that not indicate the GM is doing his job?

Now myself- I’m on the record saying this is a PISS POOR roster. I don’t believe this is a loaded roster by any means. I believe we need a full roster reconstruction. When you lose 52-6 and 47-10 to the 2 top teams in the conference’s, that should tell you it’s BAD.

The fact is Khan fell for the media and fan bait by saying this is a loaded roster and #1 HC option spot. Disgusting.

Baalke stays but now the coach will report directly to Shad? This situation seems even worse. What does Shad know about football? So now the coach and GM will be even less connected?

Everything about this sounds awful.

Wishful thinking here says that's why we haven't heard of him being fired and why Shad said he's collaborating with Baalke.

I really hope this is true.

I'm hoping for the Baalke retirement angle as well. But why say the coach will report to Shad? It's all preposterous
