I do not like all the QB runs and think Lawrence is going to get hurt if he keeps this stuff up. I am not Urban’s biggest fan by far, but cmon. This was the first game we used any option / designed runs for Trevor really at all. You act like they’ve been running him multiple times every game We show less advertisements to registered users. Herndon definitely showed rust if not downright confusion. Nut the one who really looks confused is Myles Jack. Without Poz or Telvin, he seems lost out there. O-line stated in his thread that we should end the experiment with Chaisson. To a degree I think he is right. but if they did, I would move Myles to that OLB spot and put Quarterman next to Wilson in the middle. Let Russel spell them when needed
Jags were getting away with false starts and holding all night. Did you miss those?

Meyer has a beast in Robinson, why the F would you run your franchise QB ???? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Joe Burrow is one of the most intelligent quaterbacks that I have ever seen play.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023. One thing in particular that surprised me in this game is that Marvin Jones isn't further along with Trevor Lawrence, in their chemistry on scramble / fire drills. It's possible the shoulder injury Marvin Jones has been dealing with has limited his opportunities to do so. On similar plays the last few seasons, Jones would often go deep, and Matthew Stafford would connect with him ( or come close ) to connecting on big plays. At other times, Jones would head. towards the sideline, back towards Stafford. I definitely think receivers doing more to help Trevor Lawrence on these type of plays should be a point of emphasis by the Jaguars coaches, moving forward.

That play could easily end up being one of the best QB to WR plays in the NFL all season. Terrific throw and catch. Along with thinking that Trevor Lawrence has the look of a QB who will eventually live up to his draft billing, I'm impressed at how far Jamal Agnew has come as a WR. Last season, one in which there was no team off-season activities or pre-season games, was Agnew's first season as a full time WR. He was previously a backup Nickel CB and used on a select amount of gadget plays on Offense. I was referring to, or I should say disagreeing, with your notion that if Meyer keeps this up Trevor will get hurt. If Trevor has been sent into the teeth of the defense for four weeks straight, I would agree, but I think it was more of they saw something in the Bungles defense they liked, and took the look. I don't think this will be a regular occurrence every game (10-01-2021, 01:21 PM)SamusAranX Wrote:(10-01-2021, 09:15 AM)YouMadThough Wrote: Jags were getting away with false starts and holding all night. Ok, thus far this season, Tyrod Taylor, Teddy Bridgewater, and Joe Burrow pretty much looked like the most intelligent QBs in the history of the NFL. Get where I'm going with this one? Somewhere along the line, there is a common denominator. I don't think this will be a regular occurrence every game I kinda like it. I'd just like to see about 50% less of it. Primarily because it often robs JR of better designed run plays, secondarily because i'd like a little less risk for Trevor.

Statistics have shown on short kicks, it actually helps the kicker. On long kicks, it's more in doubt. Some, and I emphasize the word some, have shown a very minor benefit, but I highly suspect that is just a statistical anomaly or the fact that the statistics aren't considering all factors. Some have also run the numbers and it has shown no benefit even on long kicks. Personally, if I was the kicker, I would want the other team to "ice" me. You get a few extra moments to take some deep breaths and calm yourself. |
