Tom Brady Suspended first four games

Remember when Ray Rice originally got that 2 game suspension for that beatdown? Now I hate the PATS, but c'mon NFL what?
Quote:Wow I'm shocked Goodell finally did the right thing. :woot:   I know Robert Kraft said he would accept any penalty handed out by Goodell, but I just don't think he will accept the one. R Kraft and the Pats will appeal this suspension, fine and loss of draft picks and I think there's a good chance he gets both lowered,or at least one of them. It seems like Goodell handed out a pretty big/excessive fine, suspension, draft pick loss, just in case the Pats appealed and got it lowered. He went from under penalizing players and teams to over penalizing them, so when they appeal it will be reduced to about what it should have been in the first place. That's just the way I see it.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
It'll be reduced by at least 1 game. No way the NFL loses out on Brady vs the Crackwagon in Week 5 when this is up on NFL.com

Quote:Why should the point differential dictate the severity of the penalty? Yeah...so basically they didn't NEED to cheat in that game, but did it any way!!
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

The last time NE had no Brady they still won 11 games, and one would think this backup is better, and they know about it ahead of time. Guys acting like its a one man team are crazy, we aren't going to beat them.

The outcome doesn't matter...the intent to cheat was there...all that matters....it's cheating and lying.. honestly I would have liked to see 6 weeks min.... Quote:I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that the Patriots are repeat offenders. Absolutely! I'm pleasantly surprised how well the NFL handled this situation. The integrity of the league is at least when a team repeatedly cheats. If this was College Football and something of this magnitude occurred, especially with a school having a past history similar to the Patriots past history ( Spygate ), I'm convinced that they would have had the National Championship taken away. I have no sympathy for the Patriots based on their lack of cooperation with the investigation. Quote:Where are the people who said Brady won't get suspended because he is Goodell's boy toy or whatever? While I thought a suspension was a must based on the findings of the report, the overall combined punishment for the Patriots and Tom Brady is more than I could have hoped for under the circumstance they created. At least from my vantage point, this is one of the finest moments for the NFL in a long time in terms of the way they dealt with a situation involving one of the teams. I've been critical of the Commissioner but this time around he really did what's best for the NFL. Regardless of how the Patriots do w/o Tom Brady, it's great to see that the NFL acted in the best interest of the overall league. They are certainly capable of more than overcoming the loss of Brady. But the league sent a message to all 32 teams that what the Patriots did, especially on top of their history with Spygate, is totally unacceptable.
The actual penalty is probably half of it , bc they were disciplined before they had to double the penalty. Its fair game.

Everyone's acting like it's huge. Don't forget they have been disciplined before so the had to make sure the pats will understand this time.
Quote:At the end of the day, this is the NFL's fault. You want every ball perfectly calibrated NFL league, fine then test them and keep posession. They made a decision to let teams to "work in" the footballs they played with a long time ago, and there are a plethora of quotes of current and former QBs talking about how they managed their own footballs. I mean, isn't strange that over the past 49 years that no QB hasn't been "outed" for this type of thing? I don't actuallly care about Brady's suspension, but more about the finger pointing and overly, overly, overly, overly long investigate into an issue that basically comes down from a failure of the league to sort out their priorities. And *^&% me if every darn made-up controversy has to have "-gate" added to the end of it.It's the NFL's fault the Patriots cheated? :woot: Whose fault is it that other teams DIDN'T cheat? PS How's the weather in Foxboro?
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.
Quote:One play could have easily decided the Ravens playoff game. And I doubt anyone really believes this was a one-time thing. I wonder how long the equipment guy has been on the job.

“As you know, we regard violations of competitive rules as significant and deserving of a strong sanction, both to punish the actual violation and to deter misconduct in the future. In this case, the footballs were intentionally deflated in an effort to provide a competitive advantage to Tom Brady after having been certified by the game officials as being in compliance with the playing rules. While we cannot be certain when the activity began, the evidence suggests that January 18th was not the first and only occasion when this occurred, particularly in light of the evidence referring to deflation of footballs going back to before the beginning of the 2014 season.

Its not the first, and it sure as hell won't be the last, just like steroids in the MLB, and gambling in the NBA. Cheating happens everywhere, Brady is not the first and won't be the last. It was not even that big of a deal, that had no outcome on the games, NONE. Its getting ratings, its gonna be in the press and talk shows all tomorrow, and the sheep are going to eat up all the drama thats spoon fed to them. Goodell is the worst commissioner in NFL history, and its going to keep getting worse. Knowing this dummy, he will add another rule and stoppage to the game so he can advertise his bud light buddies a bit more. So now the games will be 5 hours instead of 4.
They'll appeal it and have it reduced to two games just watch. Then he'll come back and it will be all about how he lit us up and how great he is.
No pain, no gain.
