I know Robert Kraft said he would accept any penalty handed out by Goodell, but I just don't think he will accept the one.

 

R Kraft and the Pats will appeal this suspension, fine and loss of draft picks and I think there's a good chance he gets both lowered,or at least one of them.

 

It seems like Goodell handed out a pretty big/excessive fine, suspension, draft pick loss, just in case the Pats appealed and got it lowered.

 

He went from under penalizing players and teams to over penalizing them, so when they appeal it will be reduced to about what it should have been in the first place.

 

That's just the way I see it.

No Pats fan, but that's overkill. Maybe, maybe...if it were a close game, but it was a shellacking.

1. The balls didn't help the D hold them to 7 points.

2. The Colts D couldn't stop the Pats run game.

I'm pleasantly surprised how well the NFL handled this situation.   The integrity of the league is at least when a team repeatedly cheats.  If this was College Football and something of this magnitude occurred,  especially with a school having a past history similar to the Patriots past history  ( Spygate ),  I'm convinced that they would have had the National Championship taken away.

The Ravens game was pretty close.

 

One play could have easily decided the Ravens playoff game. 

 

I have no sympathy for the Patriots based on their lack of cooperation with the investigation.

While I thought a suspension was a must based on the findings of the report,  the overall combined punishment for the Patriots and Tom Brady is more than I could have hoped for under the circumstance they created.    At least from my vantage point,  this is one of the finest moments for the NFL in a long time in terms of the way they dealt with a situation involving one of the teams.  I've been critical of the Commissioner but this time around he really did what's best for the NFL.

Regardless of how the Patriots do w/o Tom Brady,  it's great to see that the NFL acted in the best interest of the overall league.   They are certainly capable of more than overcoming the loss of Brady.   But the league sent a message to all 32 teams that what the Patriots did,  especially on top of their history with Spygate,  is totally unacceptable.

The actual penalty is probably half of it , bc they were disciplined before they had to double the penalty. Its fair game.

At the end of the day, this is the NFL's fault.  You want every ball perfectly calibrated NFL league, fine then test them and keep posession.  They made a decision to let teams to "work in" the footballs they played with a long time ago, and there are a plethora of quotes of current and former QBs talking about how they managed their own footballs.  I mean, isn't strange that over the past 49 years that no QB hasn't been "outed" for this type of thing?  I don't actuallly care about Brady's suspension, but more about the finger pointing and overly, overly, overly, overly long investigate into an issue that basically comes down from a failure of the league to sort out their priorities. And *^&% me if every darn made-up controversy has to have "-gate" added to the end of it.

THE NFL SUCKS, its a giant PR stunt now, anyone with half a brain could analyze what you just said, and its 100 percent correct. Its not the first, and it sure as hell won't be the last, just like steroids in the MLB, and gambling in the NBA. Cheating happens everywhere, Brady is not the first and won't be the last. It was not even that big of a deal, that had no outcome on the games, NONE. Its getting ratings, its gonna be in the press and talk shows all tomorrow, and the sheep are going to eat up all the drama thats spoon fed to them. 

 

Goodell is the worst commissioner in NFL history, and its going to keep getting worse. Knowing this dummy, he will add another rule and stoppage to the game so he can advertise his bud light buddies a bit more. So now the games will be 5 hours instead of 4.
