Actually I really did mean the #1 pick in the draft --- I should have clarified. Bottom line, independent of the personnel currently on the roster .... is AP worth a #1 pick in this years draft? If you were starting a franchise, would you take AP over the rest of the field in the draft?
yes

Quote:1. LW not universally agreed as the best player in the draft.

2. LW not the best defensive player as far as needs are concerned either.
You and the dude who agreed with you are wrong. Your second point is irrelevant to my comment because it wasn't my argument and you're still wrong.

No, Leonard Williams is NOT universally agreed to be the best player in the draft. There are plenty that have doubts about him.

Maybe it's not unanimous, but the majority agree it's him.

Per Rotoworld:

Quote:In a poll of 19 NFL executives done by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, 10 named USC DT Leonard Williams as the No. 1 player in the 2015 draft.

Alabama WR Amari Cooper finished a distant second with four votes. Oregon QB Marcus Mariota (2 1/2) was third, Florida DE/OLB Dante Fowler and Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon each received one vote, and Georgia RB Todd Gurley got the final half-vote. (Notice Jameis Winston received no first-place votes.) Although there has been some recent scuttlebutt of Williams falling in the draft, it's hard to imagine him getting past the Raiders at No. 4 or Redskins at No. 5. And Williams could still easily go second overall to the Titans.

Pretty much this.  The majority think he is the best, but its only like a 50% majority.  Clearly not consensus or unanimous.  Nothing like Clowney last year and Clowney had a lot of criticism heaped his way.

A 53% majority is far from universally accepted.

Still, 50% is a lot.  It's not a toss-up like some people on this board make it sound.

And who knows what that poll would've been like last year.  I remember some people claiming Khalil Mack is the best overall player, so I'm sure some teams would've agreed.

I have always said it's 50/50, and that looks to be pretty much exactly what it is.

gimme him at 3!

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I said the majority, not that he universally accepted.

Probably like 40/60, maybe 35/65, for the up and coming draftniks.
