Alternative Facts

#81

As if it really matters, the bottom line is this.  What the White House Secretary said can neither be proven nor dis-proven.  What he said is this.

Quote:

"This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period"

Now where the whole "uproar" stems from is that many of the liberal media, especially CNN were showing a misleading caparison graphic of Obama's and Trump's inauguration as "fact", and it was their big "headline" regarding the inauguration.  The problem is, nobody really tracks actual numbers at the event.  The crowd size numbers were being portrayed as FACT when it's impossible to know for sure.

The other thing to consider is that in this day and age, there are far more smart-phones and other streaming capable devices around all over the world.  It's conceivable that this inauguration was in fact witnessed by the "largest audience ever".  However, once again nobody tracks the numbers, so it can't be said that it's actual FACT.

The term "alternative fact" is simply saying that the GUESS as far as "audience witnessing an inauguration" could be figured out in more than one way.

As I said, it doesn't really matter to most people either way.  The real point is though, the MSM needs to go back to reporting actual FACTS rather than posting OPINION.

Who cares, you ask?   Trumps press secretary came out and brought it up!  And took no questions afterwards.  This is all he wanted to talk about!   The press didn't bring it up!  Trump's press secretary did!

Look, if you think this is stupid crap, which it is, they why is Trump perpetuating this dispute by sending his own press secretary out there to lie about it?   Provable, absolute, bald faced lies!   What is he doing!  It's idiotic!
RIGHT?

This part of the forum is like bizarro world. The President has a HUGE issue when he's made to look bad (like a child would) and somehow it's the lefts fault???? OK. This will be a fun 4 years with him getting butt hurt over any and everything. He needs to worry about important issues now.

No one said it was the first time. Your claim was that they weren't on tv acting like children.

He's certainly very insecure. Maybe it's because deep down he knows he's had life easy because of daddy rather than his own abilities.

Alternate facts from the right side.

He absolutely said "both in person and around the globe".

Why lie so much? Seriously how can you lie about this when it's right out there for everyone to see.

Bringing up stuff that had nothing to do with this post. I neither discussed, brought up, or even spoke about. This post is talking about the White House Press Secretary and his use of alternative facts. What most people call lies.

Your deflection an attempt at redirection is noted.

VS. alternate facts from the left MSM?  If you're really being honest with yourself you would understand that this whole "story" is because of the misleading "facts" that the MSM had on their headlines.  Why did they do such a thing?  Were they reporting actual news with HARD FACTS or were they presenting OPINION as "news" to try to downplay the inauguration?

Why the HELL does Trump CARE who had the biggest crowd?   Is it so important to him that he sends his press secretary out there to lie about it?   He sends his press secretary out there and he told several complete verifiable lies.   This was his press secretary's first press conference!    Are we going to go through this for four years?   This is so childish!

Seems very simple.

Yes the mainstream media made a bigger deal of the fact that more people came out to Washington to see Obama. My opinion is who cares.

The point is Donald Trump cared so much he sent his Press Secretary out with the soul intentions of complaining about it. Not only did he do that he lied about multiplr verifiable facts. What kind a child behaves that way?

You liberals seem to miss the point.  It's not about who had the bigger crowd.  It's about the liberal media's dishonesty when reporting the "news".  It's plain irresponsible and needs to stop.

Nothing that the press secretary said can be proven as a "verifiable" lie.

The fact of the matter is the liberal MSM is trying to portray the inauguration as being less enthusiastic to much of America (and the world) than it was.  President Trump gave a very good speech that spoke about "WE THE PEOPLE" instead of himself.  It was a much inspiring speech and the first attempt to actually unify our divided nation.  That's the real story and news that they should have been reporting.  Instead they were "reporting" on misleading photos to try to downplay what he actually said.  You had liberal Rachel Madcow saying that the speech was "dark" and "depressing".

Read this.  He told five verifiable lies.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/donald-tru...tes-233984

The problem was, simply stating a rather harmless fact, that the crowd was down from previous inaugurations, which can easily be explained by the political and demographic makeup of the DC citizenry, caused Trump to send his spokesman out to argue about it, as if it really mattered.

That statement, that the crowd size was smaller than the ones Obama had, was so innocuous that no one would have even remembered it, and no one cared about it, except for Donald Trump.   Our 13 year old President.   So what did he do?  He sent his press secretary out there to make a fool of himself.

Quote:Not what he said now you're making alternative facts. He said both in person and global. Of course good luck finding a global numbers from 2008 to ever verify that. It doesn't matter. It's a lie the minute he said in person. Why lie about that?

The joke of the whole situation is our president was so hurt by the mere fact that Obama had more spectators that he had to said his Press Secretary out to lie about it. How infantile can you be?

Who cares how many people showed up?

No, his statement is referring to the combined total not the largest of both discretely. At least that's how I read it. But sure, he's lying.  Rolleyes

Probably time to scrap the free press and get a state run media outlet so we can get the alternative facts

I am enjoying this so very much!

You clearly haven't been watching the news lately, huh? My TVs been full of infantile antics from the election losers. Everyone, shockingly, except for Hillary herself, who I give major props for dropping out of the spotlight and conducting herself well while in it last Friday.

No idea, I haven't been trawling the news trying to find anything to make me feel further aggrieved by his victory.
