I think you're right, after second thought. That's the role he would have to play in our system.

I would be curious to see Leonard Williams' bench press

Bryant only pushed 20 times at the combine which isn't anything special for a guy his size in the L. I wouldn't put TOO much stock into that.

ya but a guy like Suh destroyed the bench press, and other busts have done bad

Roy's deal is four years, $16.25 million.

Sounds about right. My guess is it is mostly front loaded. I would expect the same with most of the free agents they sign as well.

Jaguars DT Roy Miller signed a 4-year deal worth a little more than $16M

Yep. Another smart "prove it" deal.

Ideally, if we still had any 2013 cap still available, they gave him a hefty signing bonus with it.

That's a great deal for Miller.

I think its fair for both sides. Miller has played to the level the coaches beleived he would last season until he hurt his shoulder.

IMO he really has been the lynchpin of the defense this season. When your stout up the middle and push everything laterally, you allow the rest of your guys to rally. He hasn't just been stoud though, he's made plays on occasion which is another positive.

Glad to see another FA signing proving his worth and earning another contract.

I didn't know he was only 27. He showed toughness last year, and his play improved this year. I'm happy for the guy. Way to ring in the new year, Roy.

Odds are, he's re-signing with Detroit.  They're already in negotiations.

Suh said himself that he would let his agent pick his next team. That being said, I would be shocked if he didn't at least wait for FA to start before signing a deal to stay in Detroit. If Khan or Caldwell want Suh, they have the money to outbid everyone else. All they have to do is call Suh's agent during the legal tampering period and tell him we will pay more than anyone else.

I don't think it will be for 100 million, either. 6yr/85mil is my guess.

If the contract is the same as the Hood/Clemons/Bryant contracts where all the guaranteed money is in the first year and it plays like a 1-year deal with recurring team options, it's a good one.

This contract has nothing - NOTHING - to do with Suh. They don't play the same position. You might as well speculate as to how this contract affects the signing of Julius Thomas or King Dunlap.

I figured he'd get a little less than what Marks got.  Good deal.

I'd rather have Dunlap than Suh, as long as it meant we could get some Oline guys that are worth anything here; hopefully ones that don't have to transition from a MBS to a ZBS like Mr Zane did.

What are you talking about? The Broncos have been a ZBS team, forever.

If Suh isn't asking for a ridiculous deal (a la Mario Williams), then I'm all for it.

If he is, then no thanks.

Breaking the bank on any free agent that isn't a QB seldom, if ever pays off.

I mean, how far has Detroit gone while he's been on the team?

The article I linked earlier said the most likely destination would be NY, Dallas, or remaining in Detroit.  I wouldn't want to get into a bidding war for his services, especially vs. the markets they're suggesting.  We've got way too many other areas needing attention to blow a chunk of our cap space on Suh.  We're fine at DT.

Zane Beadles played in the MBS under Mike McCoy. You're thinking of the past, Mike Shanahan ran Broncos. They stopped using the ZBS back when he got canned in 09.

The inter webs is a good thing to search before ya call someone out, btw.
