We got better today

We need 2 things. Better line protection, and Justin Blackmon.

I'd rather see a win against the Tacks then advance in the draft.  From the game I saw today (and as it's been all season) there are obvious weaknesses along the O-Line and at FS.  Short of some team deciding to pull an unexpected and terrible Daniel Snyderesque trade, gaining a couple spots will do nothing to directly address either of those weaknesses.

Three things. A stud FS, better line protection, and veterans on offense (Blackmon).

Please explain improvement to me. We have to win 2 in a row to have the same 4-12 record as last year. Remove your teal glasses and math tells you that isn't improvement.

Well the first step is not judging improvement based on W-L record.

Yeah, winning is the ultimate goal.  But if you judge improvement and roster trajectory solely on W-L, then you are ignoring a significant portion of the game.  Last year, the Jags played a road game in December against a playoff team and lost by 3 scores and were never in the game.  This year, they had a chance to win in the 4th quarter in a similar game.

If you don't see it then you're looking for a reason to be a miserable fan, which is your right.

Blackmon is not a legtit vet.  Yes, he has great talent but the guy has been suspended more games than he's played.

My inside sources tell me that instead of making gameplan adjustments, Gus spent halftime arranging a trip to Baskin Robbins for a postgame treat. When told they were short-staffed today and couldn't accomodate the Jags, Gus told the manager "It's ok man! Just get better next week and there will be another opportoony man!"

After the game, the team was greeted in the locker room by a smiling Gus holding a tray of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. "Line up boys, you've earned these cookies because you got better and competed all day man! And that's what it's all about man! Coach Jedd will pour each of you a glass of warm milk man, because I feel as a group we capitalized on our opportoonies man! And that's all that matters!"

31 other owners judge improvement based on W-L record. Gus Bradley is lucky his owner happens to be the remaining 1.

A "we got better today" thread? Wow.

Did you watch the game or just read a box score?

Quote:No need for a sarcasm font, you were unintentionally correct. The Jaguars showed improvement today. If you expected more from this offense against the Ravens defense, especially the pass rush, you were setting yourself up for disappointment.
If you expect us to take your statement at face value, well, you're severely mistaken!

All that squeezing of lemmingade has got to have you tired by now, no?

I normally don't ring on Jedd because honestly I don't think he's the problem if we're looking at the big picture.  But that last 3rd and long we had in the 4th quarter he called a draw to Jordan Todman.  A freaking DRAW to the worst RB on the team precisely after our best lineman came out of the game.  That was probably his single worst playcall of this entire season.

A draw to freaking Jordan Todman on what probably was the most important play of the game.

Maybe the logic was Fisch thought the Ravens would be dumb enough to believe he wouldn't be dumb enough to run a draw on third and long with Todman.

It backfired.

Need more than an offensive line player or three. Seems everyone overlooks we have no linebackers. Poz is long in the tooth and these guys now are sad. Thomas and Hayes have thick thighs and are super slow. JT Thomas is just plain bad. Telvin is the only one of the three I think is a player, IF he hits the weight room and puts on weight. If the right player is there it might be time to draft a high pick linebacker. I am very, very tired of tight ends burning us at will. Yesterday was more Baltimore not scoring than us stopping them. They were dropping balls and did not look like they took us seriously. A team with a good Tight end will kill us, always will, our linebackers are just too slow to react.

So we need help all over, tight end, Linebacker, OL, FS.

At a minimum, one impact middle linebacker, one super tight end, A decent left tackle, we see immediate improvement and are a .500 team

The ironic part for me was watching that impact middle linebacker and decent left tackle playing in purple yesterday, we already had them, but I wont go off on that rant. We need new ones again.

Quote:It can get worse - we can beat the Tacks and finish 3-13.

Best thing we can do is lose and force the Tacks to get ahead of us to draft a QB, or we trade back and get extra picks.  Either way will work.

So if we win, we lose and

If we lose we win?

This is very confusing.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I prefer to take a no-lose approach to the Jags.
