Is Taking Mariota Really Off The Table?

#81

If we take Mariota, Caldwell is throwing in the towel as a GM and should be fired immediately or before he actually makes that pick.

This is a moot point because we aren't taking a QB in the 1st round.

I want to get the #1 pick overall because i DO think people will be looking to trade up for Mariota or possibly for Winston.

I think this team would greatly benefit from getting another 2-3 picks and still keep a pick in the top 10-12.

Do you think the Bucs beat Green Bay or New Orleans?

IMO, this kind of view of drafting QB's needs to change. If you have a GM that has show well on the majority of his decisions, why decide his fate on only his QB draft pick? I'm not saying I think Caldwell is a great GM, but saying whether he is good or not at his job base on one transaction alone, is asinine.

Not a good idea.
Well, this makes no sense.

Herbstreit just said what a lot of NFL people believe, "As good as Mariota is, it's all about the scheme."

Unless a team is willing to completely retool their offense to fit his style, it'll be a wasted pick. If a team does draft him and change their style to fit his needs then that team will fail. That offense can't make it in the NFL. And don't give me "Well Chip Kelly is doing it..." He has changed his offense drastically from his college system. The Oregon offense is like none other in the NFL.
