Yes.... for now. When Dave picked Gus to be the HC it seemed like the best choice given the options available. We needed a head coach 'now' and you can only hire who's willing and available. Understanding that, I think Gus was the man for the job.... and still is, unless the team proves that he isn't 'gettin' 'er done'. Have we reached that point? I don't think so; we're still only two years into a total rebuild. No one should consider dumping their head coach after only two seasons into a total rebuild given what Gus has had to work with.

Until I hear it from the coach or GM no one posting on this board knows what the plan is. Yes, I heard them say their plan was to build through the draft, but that is the extent of it. To my knowledge, at no time did they say it was  a 3 year plan to be playoff contenders. At no time did they say we will struggle for 2 years then in year 3 we will be contenders. Not once did they say we will continue with youth and inexperience for the first two years with no improvement then judge our results in year 3.

 

Some how though, posters will continue to devour this 3 year process fantasy as though its carved in stone we either win consistently in year 3 or Khan will change the regime.

Since David Caldwell and Gus Bradley arrived in January 2013, the plan has been consistent that the team will build through the draft, and that that’s where the core of the team will be built. It also has been clearly stated that after a couple of drafts, the team would supplement that core by targeting areas of needs in free agency.

Who should we've brought in that would've made this year better? I really can only think of 1 or 2 guys who could be part of the solution who we could get to come here.

Keeping a few of our own would of been a start I guess. blowing up the team so dramatically kind of made the season hopeless. We are basically fielding a preseason squad and it shows. We all knew that oline should of been addressed more than just Beadles and hoping Joekle could just step in and dominate.

I want the wins to happen. I wanted to have 3 or 4 by this point. I expected it.  I'm mad it hasn't happened. It doesn't mean the team hasn't improved.

Answer to bolded:  I don't know he's the right guy. I said he might be. He's certainly given me reason to doubt this year, but with such a ridiculously young roster - I'm patient enough to wait before judging him too harshly.

I dont know...why cant there be a happy medium between building with an eye on the future while remaining competitive. If the majority of these young guys dont pan out then we are rebuilding forever. I guess we will find out next year
