Was anyone listening to 1010XL this morning when a Jag fan called into the show and was crying?

I didn't listen to the entire thing, but after he hung up, the show was at the point of tracking down the guy to make sure he's ok and didn't go do something stupid like jump off the Wells Fargo building

You cant be serious. No. You are not serious? It might have been a clever ploy for the team to start playing better. Saying that they are "killing the fans" with their play.

Cant be real tho? lol

Quote:again, we're 11th in pass yardage. That's our QB and our receivers...

We're 3rd in sacks and 14th in rush defense. Our D line is legit.

That's 3 units right there.

Our special teams aren't killing us like they once did... (Turk)

We lack in secondary (pass defense) and in our running game...

We're also out matched in terms of game planning and game management (coaches).

So yes, we have issues. But it's not as though this team is devoid of talent as some may want to believe.

That's all I'm saying.
Ok lets take a look here... Not sure where you are getting 11th from?

http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?t...S_GAME_AVG

From that list it looks like we are 22nd. Which again... like I said is below average. You also can't solely base your passing offense by passing yards. Are the Rams really the 7th best passing team or are they just passing so much because they are behind? Are the Seahawks really the 31st best passing team in the league? No.

Our rushing offense is dead last.

This team is not totally devoid of talent I agree but it has so many holes. Oline, RB, LB, and secondary need work. QB and WRs are so young that at this moment, you don't really know.

There is only one unit that is doing above average and thats the Dline. I love where the QB is headed along with the WRs but they are not there yet.

I thought I enjoyed the game and the effort yesterday. I guess I must've been wrong.

It was fake.  One of the radio guys said he did the same thing last week.

Huh

Run defense is better than it was early in the season.  (Miller,Marks, Jones, Bryant all contributing there)

Pass rush is improved from last year.

We found a QB to build around.

Young talent at WR will pay dividends sooner than later.

These ^ are the visible steps made in "the process" this season.  Unfortunately the back seven on defense regressed  - and the number of starting rookies on offense would require miracles to execute consistently enough to win more than a few games.  There's more progress than is apparent - but - to everyone's dismay it's not gonna get much better this season.  Hard to swallow for those of us who were optimistic for 6 or 7 wins - but having to settle for "signs of improvement" during losses instead.

We went from just wanting competitive, enjoyable games in week 1 to complete win now mode or else in week 6. Surprised? Not by this fanbase.

Yeah, if you look at the bulk of those who are running around with pitchforks and torches today, they either signed up yesterday/today, or they were part of the group that was hoping for competitiveness this year with an eye on winning next year.  Very few had high expectations for this team this year until such time as they decided it was time to start whining.

The team has improved.  It hasn't been as noticeable or as quickly as many here would prefer, but over the past couple of weeks, they've stopped the bleeding and started to establish more consistency.  That's important in turning that corner, especially when you consider how young this roster is and how many of those young players are being forced to contribute right out of the box.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

You are right.  How dare they want a win after losing 9 consecutive game.  They are so unreasonable.

This is down right laughable.  You come off as this fanbase should of expected to get blown out 4 out of their first 6 games and wind up 0-6.

Most people expected some progress after 2 offseaons.  If you want to chalk up 2 decent performances agiainst horrible teams as progress then you are easily satisfied. This team has sunk below expectations of even the most reasonable fans.

Fans can and should want wins, but they also need to have at least a shred of perspective.  This team will win games this year.  They might even surprise a few teams.  At that point, some of you will be howling about meaningless wins, so in reality, it doesn't matter what the team does in the eyes of some folks.

This team hasn't been blown out of a game in the last 2 games, and the margin has gotten smaller.  A last second field goal would have won it yesterday.  That's improvement.  That's competitive.

Pittsburgh isn't a horrible team.  At the time we faced them, they had the 4th rated offense in the league.  We held them well below their average for scoring and yards per game, and remained in that game almost to the very end.

I consider myself a reasonable fan.  I am not whining like some spoiled brat because they're not giving me the wins I think I deserve.  I look at this roster, see the second  youngest 53 man roster in the league, and I see us starting or relying on 6-7 rookies on one side of the ball.  Anyone expecting this team to somehow be a juggernaut right out of the gate with this roster wasn't being reasonable.  It was going to be ugly, and it was expected to gradually get better as the season progressed.  Guess what?  That's what we're seeing right now.
