I think the real question now will be is he better than monroe

I think he'll be about as good as Monroe when he fully develops. Nothing special. Probably in the 10-15 range as far as LT rankings in the league. He hasn't been a huge liability this year but hasn't been particularly good either. I wasn't for the Monroe trade when it happened and I stand by those sentiments.

It's a little disappointing considering we used a 2nd overall pick on a guy who will probably never be elite, but at least he's better than Fisher who has been beaten like a drum week in and week out, and history indicates you don't have to have an elite LT to have success in the league. To me, it's a position that is waaayyy overvalued.

Joeckel will probably be here for a long time. At least, he better be considering they gave away Monroe for next to nothing and then made a huge investment in the draft in Luke.

Agreed. I would say he has a chance to work himself into a borderline Pro Bowl player given his athleticism but in any case, he's going to be fine.

Quote:Luke hasn't really "flashed" as a dominant LT to me... I see him getting bullied off the LOS quite frequently.

Technically, this is his "first" year of real experience but he should not be whiffing like he has been.

Your thoughts?

He aint good.

If you think I offended you, don't worry, I meant to. #facts

I'm willing to give him a pass this season. As a lineman you have no idea how hard it is to come back from a season-ending ankle injury.

Linemen must have good footwork, and that requires confidence in your feet. I feel like Luke Joeckel has recovered but has not regained confidence in his legs.

Give it time.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

Looking at the top 10 picks in 2013, the majority of them have struggled so it's not like there were all of these studs out the gate and we're left with garbage.

I don't think he's a bust like some people say. But he looks way to soft to me. That was his biggest knock in college too.

I agree with this. A little physically soft, a lot mentally soft. Sometimes tentativeness comes from inexperience though. I can hope.

Well, it's relative. The guy's an NFL lineman, not a point guard.

I just sometimes wonder how you can possibly say he's mentally soft?

I'm willing to bet you've never spoken to him nor do you know him.

We see what he says in interviews and how he plays, and that's it.

I don't care how he is as long as he keeps Bortles upright which is his primary job.

Compared to other linemen, he's fit, relatively quick, and agile.

Boselli seems to have confidence that Joeckel will have long term success in the NFL as a right tackle or left tackle so I'll go on that.  I don't think anyone is thinking Pro Bowl but maybe that is actually ok so he can stay long term and not require a $10m contract.

What did Boselli say about Monroe before he was traded?  Probably that he was wonderful bla blah bla
