I think it's pretty safe to say all of our linebackers have proven to be liabilities at various times so far this year.  Poz doesn't hold an exclusive.  They have to get better because, as Alfie points out in his article, help  isn't on the way. 

 

I've said it multiple times, he's one of many issues on the Jaguars defense, but he is an issue, to pretend that he's not is disingenuous. THe Jaguars have holes all over their defense, but the linebacker group is one of the worst in football, and it shows each and every Sunday.

To suggest that Alfie has some kinda of personal agenda against Andre Branch is silly, I don't agree with everything the guy writes but that's ridiculous. Please tell me, what incentivizes Alfie to do such a thing? Again, most of us considered Andre Branch a bust until the second half of last season, and because most of his sacks were schemed stunts, we had our doubts heading into this year.

The entire defense is an issue. His issues seem to be more of an over compensation for those around him. Trying to do everyone else's job and in the process his job responsibilities are suffering. They all need to get better and at this point there aren't many options available other than looking in the mirror.

I agree, when you give up the amount of yards and points the Jaguars do it's obviously not one player, it's a collective unit of incompetence. If it doesn't improve they'll all be on notice, the 2015 offseason will be dedicated to rebuilding this awful defense.

The idea of cutting him is stupid. I love how so many people care what he makes. He's not going anywhere. He's at least the second/third best player on the defense. Any LB is a liability in coverage with an athletic TE. I guess no ones seen a TE score. The youth movement is really working here so let's cut him.

 Because trashing a young, unproven player at a position that frequently takes a few seasons to become productive playing is any better? 

 

Agendas happen.  Alfie has shown he's susceptible to defending his at times just like dozens of regulars around here. Big deal. I wouldn't call it 'conspiracy.' Just people trying to bolster what may have been too strong of an opinion in the first place. 

 

Just like this this thread.  Your stance on Poz is hyperbolic to the negative side, while badger's is over the top the other way. The reality lies almost certainly somewhere in between.  You guys could go on and on all day and prove nothing to one another.

Of course he has an agenda against Branch. Just like Poz, he went all in against those guys. Just like he defends Alualu and Lewis to no end.


During this past offseason, he did not even have Branch making the final 53 man roster.

Agreed, he's not going anywhere, and his cap figure is completely irrelevant.  What is not irrelevant is the fact that he's struggling, and I suspect part of that has to do with injury, and another part of it has to do with sheer exhaustion.

What had Andre Branch done in his first 24-25 games on the field to not warrant criticism? Some of you are just too sensitive.
