Jags can pretty much draft any player they want

Quote:Fournette is the only RB you'd even consider at #4. He's a freak, generational type talent. Foreman is okay, but he's a 2 down back. Has no receiving skills. If you're taking a back in the top half of the first he's a 3 down back, franchise player. Foreman is not that. Fournette is.

I wouldn't consider any RB at #4. I've always advocated trading back and adding more draft picks. I'd only stay at #4, if there was a franchise QB (which there is none in this draft.) As for Foreman, he is absolutely, 100% a 3 down back.

Quote:Brandon Jacobs anyone? I don't think Fournette is as fast as AP but he may be even more punishing as a runner. He reminds me a lot of Jacobs--another guy Coughlin drafted in round 4 mind you.

I want Barnett, Hooker, or Allen but if we end up with Fournette I think he will be an instant impact player for us. The man is total beast.

Other than size, I see no comparison to Jacobs. Fournette, is faster, more elusive and has better balance than Jacobs did.

Yeah, definitely not Jacobs. Demarco Murray or AP are the best comparisons IMO. Better prospect than the former though

Which one of his 7 catches this year helped you come up with that conclusion?

There are a couple of very highly rated safeties in this draft.   If we go to less of a free safety/strong safety setup on defense, could we draft a safety with our first pick?

Maybe Jamal Adams from LSU or Malik Hooker, Ohio State?

I'm just asking for opinions here.

Both are options at 4 for sure IMO.  I'd personally rather go for a FS than a SS, but both guys are great prospects.  With rookie payscales, we can a be a bit more versatile with our picks and it doesn't necessarily have to be a premium position.

Have you seen the Texas aerial attack? Yeah, that's right. There wasn't much of one which is why D'Onta got so much ground work. They had atrocious QB play and the box was always stacked, because other teams knew they would always run the ball and Foreman still led the regular season in rushing yards. As for receiving, you can only do as well as the opportunities you are given. Texas never threw to the RB. How is he supposed to get receiving yards when he was never thrown to? There have been plenty of RB's who came into the NFL being complete unknowns as receivers, but ended up being very good pass catchers once they were given an opportunity.

can you name a few off the top of your head?

I think studying running backs is pretty hard myself.

most of the running backs in question will look good with even decent blocking - and lets be honest - in college you have decent blocking most of the time.

what I want to see is a running back take a clear 3 yard loss and turn it into a 50 yard touchdown.  I'd like to see some actual moves, jukes, etc - where a sure tackle is missed.  Most of the highlights therefore are completely pointless and a waste of time.

IMO, what you want to focus on when grading a RB (as far as running the ball and not blocking) is once they're past the D-line, what do they do?  Anyone can run through a large hole, but it's how they react when those LBs and DBs are coming after them.  They're a lot of times on their own at that point.

I think that's offensive but on a website with all football dudes I'm sure it doesn't matter. Anyway, Watson is going to be a great QB, Cleveland needs a QB, and QBs alwaysbget overdrafted. You'll see.

Not sure if i'm alone on this one, but I love Marlon Mack RB out of USF. Would love the Jags to pick him up.

This was one of the better links of him:

As much as I like Hooker, taking Safety at 4 gives me some pause. If Garrett, Allen, and Barnett are all off the board by 4, I think we need to trade back if we can find someone willing to come up to 4. I think we need pass rusher really badly but those are the only 3 id do in the top 5.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

If we go safety it will be Adams.

Adams will be an elite safety. Up there with Collins and Berry.

I can't stand Matt Miller and one of the worst IMO. He said Adams reminds him of Sean Taylor. But when you watch Adams play, the way he fly's around the field and a magnet to the football, the hard hits, the instincts, I can see the similarities. No way the guy is Taylor but I can see the similarities
